Touro-CA vs. Des Moines University
I’m currently really interested in pursuing emergency medicine since I have experience as an EMT and EDT. Although things could change I’d be surprised if I wanted to pursue a ROAD specialty, and see it far more likely I’d succumb to internal med or family med. I don’t know a lot about the clinical education at either of these schools.
Touro CA
Pros
I’m from the Bay Area, work and did my undergrad in San Francisco, and my in-laws live in the Bay

Tarasoff and duty to warn
What are the details of duty to warn?
We had a case where guy wasn’t expressing HI, but when discharged confronted a neighbor who was aggravating him. I know each state has their own laws that define what is reasonable and prudent, but how far are we expected to go? What if target is identified, but you have no way of contacting them? Are you able to notify the apartment manager, or police to notify the target? And how does this play into HIPPA as who we are allowed to contact?
And where...

Court halts Biden ’s student loan forgiveness
Biden knows he doesn’t have the constitutional power to forgive $400 b in student loans. He went ahead anyways knowing that some naive voters would blame it on the other party.

Practicing from abroad legalities
I understand the rules regarding billing CMS and being located outside the US. What I'm wondering is, can a US physician practice abroad and see patients in the US WITHOUT needing a medical license in the country they are physically located in? I imagine different countries have different laws, but does anyone know of at least some countries where a US physician could base themselves and see insurance based patients back in the US (in the state the physician is licensed in)? Alternate Site for PICU Fellowship Training
Hey all,
For some PICU fellowship programs, you rotate for a few months at a hospital that has something they don’t have at their primary training site (e.g. MGHfc doing CICU at Boston Children’s, UChicago doing CICU at Oak Lawn, UBuffalo doing CICU at UPMC).
While this is great for training, I’m curious as to how long of a way this goes when looking for jobs/further fellowship training in cardiac intensive care? I’m unsure if this model is beneficial or disadvantageous. Would one be more...

Can Dentist Have Medical Marijuana Card
Hello all. I'm a D1 student who currently has a MM card and I go to school where weed is legal. However, I was wondering if having a MM card affects my ability to get licensed in the future. Been searching the internet for a few days and don't really see anything.
Only worry would be getting my DEA number and I'm not sure if having a card would affect that. My card will expire before graduation. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

EPPP Florida Laws and Rules Exam
Anyone who has taken the Florida laws and rules exam have any advice? I found the "study packet" online but it's really just a long list of laws and codes. I take the exam in about 3 weeks. I've heard it's obviously easier than Part 1 (which I passed a few weeks ago 🥳), but I'm not sure what to expect since most of the stress and posts are focused on Part 1. How specific do they get in their questions? Any insight or suggestions on what to focus on? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
