Deletion of the Inflammasome Sensor < b > < i > Aim2 < /i > < /b > Mitigates A β Deposition and Microglial Activation but Increases Inflammatory Cytokine Expression in an Alzheimer Disease Mouse Model
Conclusion: AlthoughAim2 knockout mitigates A β deposition and microglial activation,Aim2 deletion does not have a beneficial effect on the spatial memory or cytokine expression of 5XFAD mice. Our findings suggest that A β aggregation and microglial activation may not always be correlated with the expression of inflammatory cytokines or cognitive function of 5XFAD mice. Our study also implies that different inflammasomes likely perform distinct roles in different physiological and/or pathological events.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Effect of Ceftiofur on Hyperalgesia and Allodynia in a Rat Neuropathic Pain Model: The Role of Immune Processes
Conclusions: Ceftiofur has anti-inflammatory effects by decreasing iNOS, IL-1 β, and p38 MAPK expression in lumbar spinal cord, and treatment of neuropathic rats with repeated doses of ceftiofur for 14 days results in antihyperalgesic effects.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Inflammation Is an Important Covariate for the Crosstalk of Sleep and the HPA Axis in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients have sleep problems, and inflammation influences sleep. We demonstrated that sleep quality improves during intensified treatment with methotrexate (MTX) or etanercept (ETA). Since the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis is involved in sleep regulation, this study investigated the interrelation between sleep parameters, inflammation as objectified by C-reactive protein (CRP), and serum cortisol and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) levels. Thirty-one eligible patients (disease activity score, DAS28CRP≥3.2) participated in a 16-week, open, prospective study of HPA axis outcomes. MT...

Acute Lipopolysaccharide Switches the Selection of Maternal Behavior to Predatory Behavior in Female Rats
Conclusions: LPS exposure switched MB to PB, prioritizing maternal survival. Thus, in more favorable situations, these rats may have new offspring and therefore her species would survive for long.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Cytokine and Chemokine Profiles in Patients with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
Conclusion: In addition to IL-6 and IL-17A, IL-16 and CCL19 act as proinflammatory cytokines/chemokines, while IL-19 plays a protective role in NMOSD pathogenesis.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Interferon- β 1a Modulates Expression of RAGE but Not S100A12 and Nuclear Factor- & #x03BA;B in Multiple Sclerosis Patients
Conclusions: It appears that S100A12 participates in the pathogenesis of MS, and it seems that IFN- β 1a modulates immune responses in an S100A12-independent manner. Based on the reported anti-inflammatory effects of RAGE, it seems that RAGE may be considered as a mechanism by IFN-β 1a to modulate immune responses. NF-#x03BA;B is produced permanently in the human cells and is inactive in the cyt oplasm; therefore, the effects of IFN-β 1a may be related to its functions rather than expressions.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Aquaporin-4 Mediates the Suppressive Effect of Lipopolysaccharide on Hippocampal Neurogenesis
Conclusion: Our data suggest that AQP4 mediates the suppressive effect of neuroinflammation on hippocampal neurogenesis via regulation of the astroglial response.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Serum Lymphocyte-Associated Cytokine Concentrations Change More Rapidly over Time in Multiple System Atrophy Compared to Parkinson Disease
Conclusions: Our results suggest that single measurements of plasma concentrations of inflammation-associated cytokines cannot be used to distinguish disease states. However, measurements made over time may correlate with pathogenesis. The significant changes in T-cell-associated cytokines may shed light on immune mechanisms that contribute to PD and MSA disease progression.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Interleukin-1 β Plays a Pivotal Role via the PI3K/Akt/mTOR Signaling Pathway in the Chronicity of Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Conclusion: Our findings suggest that IL-1 β can activate mTOR, followed by activated neurons, which is critical in the pathogenesis of MTLE chronicity. These findings contribute to the understanding of the pathogenesis of MTLE, and targeting inflammation modulators in MTLE may provide new pathways for therapy of refractory epilepsy.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Hair Cortisol Concentrations Are Associated with Hair Growth Rate
There is a growing interest in hair cortisol concentrations as a valuable biomarker for the assessment of metabolic diseases and chronic psychological stress. Fifty-three volunteers were recruited, and hair segments proximal to the scalp were collected from each individual. A cost-effective ball mill was used for the preparation of hair samples, and ELISA was performed to analyze cortisol concentrations. Results indicate that the frequency of hair washing affects the hair cortisol concentration. The group that washed their hair every day had significantly lower cortisol concentrations than the group that washed it less oft...

Bacillus Calmette-Gu érin Confers Neuroprotection in a Murine Model of Japanese Encephalitis
Conclusion: These findings indicate that the administration of BCG offers neuroprotection in the murine model of JE. BCG should therefore be further investigated as an adjuvant in the management of JE. BCG is an accepted vaccine for tuberculosis in many countries that are endemic for JEV. This approach may have a significant impact on the public health burden in these countries.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)
