Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor as a Predictive and Prognostic Biomarker for Multiple Sclerosis
Conclusion: Rise in the serum VEGF level may be involved in MS ’s relapsing phases and a shorter remission phase. Therefore, it could be used as a prognostic and predictive biomarker for MS disease.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Gabapentinoids Suppress Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Interleukin-6 Production in Primary Cell Cultures of the Rat Spinal Dorsal Horn
Conclusion: Our results provide evidence for anti-inflammatory capacities of gabapentinoids on the acute inflammatory response of SDH primary cultures upon LPS stimulation. Such effects may contribute to the pain-relieving effects of gabapentinoids.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Clinical Experience in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Adult Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy
Conclusions: This study describes the clinical symptoms, laboratory examination, neuroimaging evidence, and treatment experience of ANE in adults. We believe that the progress of the disease may be controlled, and the prognosis may be improved if glucocorticoid pulse therapy combined with gamma globulin injection is used as soon as possible.Neuroimmunomodulation 2022;29:468 –475 (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Irisin Protects Cerebral Neurons from Hypoxia/Reoxygenation via Suppression of Apoptosis and Expression of Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines
Conclusion: Irisin exerts profound neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects on H/R-stimulated cerebral neurons by inhibiting the MAPK signaling activation. Therefore, irisin may serve as a potential drug for the treatment of patients with ischemic stroke.Neuroimmunomodulation 2022;29:425 –432 (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Role of Immune and Inflammatory Mechanisms in Stroke: A Review of Current Advances
Stroke accounts for a large proportion of morbidity and mortality burden in China. Moreover, there is a high prevalence of the leading risk factors for stroke, including hypertension and smoking. Understanding the underlying mechanisms and developing effective therapeutic interventions for patients with stroke is a key imperative. The pathophysiology of stroke involves a complex interplay between the immune and inflammatory mechanisms. Focal brain inflammation triggered by neuronal cell death and the release of factors such as damage-associated molecular patterns can further exacerbate neuronal injury; in addition, impairm...

Pathophysiology and Clinical Management of Autoimmune Encephalitis-Associated Seizures
In conclusion, each neural autoantibody can specifically precipitate seizures. Early proper management of these cases may help prevent neurological deterioration and manage the occurrence of seizures. Consequently, confirmation of the presence of neuronal autoantibodies is strongly recommended even in patients with confirmed AE, as they are not only essential in achieving a good outcome but also may provide evidence for underlying neoplasia.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Increased Concentrations of Circulating Interleukins following Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation: Results from a Randomized, Sham-Controlled, Crossover Study in Healthy Subjects
Conclusion: Our results show that active tVNS led to an immediate increase in the serum concentrations of certain pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 β, IL-6, and/or IL-8 in two independent cohorts of healthy study participants.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Catalpol Alleviates Isoflurane-Induced Hippocampal Learning and Memory Dysfunction and Neuropathological Changes in Aged Mice
Conclusion: Our results indicate that catalpol preadministration could effectively alleviate cognitive impairment and neuropathological damage in isoflurane-exposed aged mice with its neuroprotective effects via modulation of the NLRP3 inflammatory pathway. Furthermore, the NLRP3 inflammatory pathway was revealed to be involved in these effects.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Autoimmune Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein Astrocytopathy Presenting with Area Postrema Syndrome-Like Symptoms without Medulla Oblongata Lesions
Conclusion: This report suggests that autoimmune GFAP astrocytopathy presents with APS-like symptoms without obvious MO lesions. The possible causes of hiccups were gastroparesis and cervical cord lesions. Gastroesophageal reflux disease was not considered a major cause of the hiccups. Intermittent vomiting appeared to be associated with gastroparesis, cervical cord lesions, and viral-like symptoms. Testing for anti-GFAP antibodies should be considered in patients with APS-like symptoms in the context of typical clinical-MRI features of autoimmune GFAP astrocytopathy.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)
