Anti-IgLON5 Encephalopathy with Concomitant Herpes Virus Encephalitis
In this study, we reported an unusual case of anti-IgLON5 encephalopathy with concomitant herpes virus encephalitis. A 51-year-old man with HLA-DQB1*05:01 and HLA-DRB1*10:01, who suffered from an episode of acute encephalitis, mental disorders, and memory impairment was admitted to our hospital. Human alpha herpes virus 1, human gamma herpes virus 4 (Epstein-Barr virus), and IgLON5-IgG were detected in the cerebrospinal fluid, indicating anti-IgLON5 encephalopathy with concomitant herpes virus encephalitis of this patient. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed T2 hyperintensities in the left temporal lobe and enhanceme...

Construction and Validation of a Glioma Prognostic Model Based on Immune Microenvironment
Conclusion: The current study screened an immune-associated gene set by classifying and differential analysis, followed by constructing an 8-gene prognostic model based on the screened genes.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Interleukin-10 Attenuates Behavioral, Immune and Neurotrophin Changes Induced by Chronic Central Administration of Interleukin-1 β in Rats
Conclusion: IL-10-improved behavioral changes may be through suppressing microglia activity and inflammation, while restoring astrocyte function and BDNF expression.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Animal Model of Neonatal Immune Challenge by Lipopolysaccharide: A Study of Sex Influence in Behavioral and Immune/Neurotrophic Alterations in Juvenile Mice
Conclusion: Male and female mice presented distinct behavioral alterations. However, LPS-challenged juvenile females showed the most prominent neurobiological alterations related to autism, such as increased microglial activation and parvalbumin impairment. Since these sex-sensitive alterations seem to be age-dependent, a better understanding of changes induced by the exposure to specific risk factors throughout life represents essential targets for developing strategies for autism prevention and precision therapy.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Could SARS-CoV-2 Infection Be a Novel Risk Factor for Multiple Sclerosis?
The outbreak of the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has challenged the healthcare community worldwide. The SARS-CoV-2 primarily affects the respiratory system; however, strong evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 can be neuroinvasive, resulting in several neurological complications. It was previously assumed that some coronaviruses are involved in multiple sclerosis (MS) pathology via various mechanisms. The mechanisms involved in coronavirus-induced central demyelination are complex and largely redundant. Molecular mimicry was proposed to be one of the possible mechanisms. Disruption of the...

Associations among the TREM-1 Pathway, Tau Hyperphosphorylation, Prolactin Expression, and Metformin in Diabetes Mice
Conclusion: We confirmed the therapeutic potential of MET for both DM and neurodegeneration. Our findings shed new light on the effects of DM on the pathophysiology of AD via the TREM-1 pathway and PRL expression. Thus, an improved understanding of the TREM-1 pathway in hyperglycemic conditions, as well as PRL, Preb, Pit-1, PRLR-L, and PRLR-S gene expression in the liver, brain, and other sites, may help unravel the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and neurodegeneration.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Evidence of Anti-Inflammatory Effect of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in a CFA-Induced Chronic Inflammatory Pain Model in Wistar Rats
Conclusion: tDCS was able to reverse the mechanical allodynia and decrease thermal hyperalgesia and local inflammation in a chronic inflammatory pain model, with a modest effect on striatum IL-10 levels. As such, we suggest that analgesic tDCS mechanisms may be related to tissue repair by modulating the local inflammatory process.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)

Expression of the α7 nAChR Subunit Duplicate Form (CHRFAM7A) Was Down-Regulated in Patients with Intracranial Infection and Reduced Inflammation in in vitro Model by p38 MAPK
Conclusion: Our data demonstrate that the expression of the CHRFAM7A was down-regulated in patients with intracranial infection and reduced inflammation in in vitro model by p38 MAPK, which suggests the potential role of CHRFAM7A as a diagnostic biomarker for intracranial infection.Neuroimmunomodulation (Source: Neuroimmunomodulation)
