Surveillance Imaging and Management of Cardiac Sarcoidosis after Advanced Heart Failure Therapies
Cardiac sarcoidosis (CS), an inflammatory disorder characterized by granulomatous inflammation, can manifest as heart failure (HF), ventricular arrhythmias, and conduction disease (1). Despite immunosuppression and medical therapy for HF, a subset of CS patients will progress to end-stage HF requiring left ventricular assist device (LVAD) therapy and/or heart transplantation (HT) which are associated with excellent outcomes (2, 3).
