Regret Me Not: Examining the Relationship between Alcohol Consumption and Regrettable Experiences.
Conclusions: These findings suggest high prevalence of regrettable experiences, that are predicted by increased alcohol consumption. However, there was little evidence that increased number of experiences predicted future drinking intentions. Regrettable experiences are prevalent following consumption, however a focus on these regrets to deter future alcohol consumption may not be an effective psychological intervention. A Review on Opuntia Species and its Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Bioapplications
Conclusion: Different parts of Opuntia plant (fruits, seeds, flowers and cladodes) are used in various health problems which include wound healing, anti-inflammatory and urinary tract infection from ancient times. Nowadays, researches have extended several pharmacological and therapeutic uses of Opuntia species as discussed in this review. Many in-vitro and in-vivo models are also discussed in this review as the proofs of research findings. Various research gaps have been observed in current studies that require attention in the future. (Source: Current Nutrition and Food Science)

L-Cysteine Containing Vitamin Supplement Which Prevents or Alleviates Alcohol-related Hangover Symptoms: Nausea, Headache, Stress and Anxiety
ConclusionsL-cysteine would reduce the need of drinking the next day with no or less hangover symptoms: nausea, headache, stress and anxiety. Altogether, these effects of L-cysteine are unique and seem to have a future in preventing or alleviating these harmful symptoms as well as reducing the risk of alcohol addiction. Self-Induced Vomiting and Other Impulsive Behaviors in Alcohol Use Disorder: A Cross-sectional Descriptive Study.
Conclusions: Almost a third of patients with AUD reported SIV. BITE scores indicated no relationship between eating disorders and alcohol-related SIV in this sample. Our findings also did not support an etiological role for impulsivity in alcohol-related SIV. PMID: 32772700 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Journal of Dual Diagnosis)

Hangover and fatigue: effects of Robuvit ® supplementation. A pilot registry study.
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, Robuvit® supplementation appears to improve hangover and relieved symptoms faster. More studies are needed to confirm this association between acute alcohol consumption and a possible hepatic dysfunction. PMID: 32586071 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Cardioangiologica)

239 Multi-functional in vitro and in vivo efficacy of Tiliacora triandra, natural ingredient with clinical anti-aging skin benefits
Tiliacora triandra is a flowering plant also known as “bai yanang”. It is native to Southeast Asia and used particularly in the cuisines of northeast Thailand and Laos. Traditionally recommended for fever reduction and for relief from hangover. Pharmacological activities include anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, suggest ing its adaptogenic function. The present study is to identify biological endpoints of proprietary extract of T.triandra. Testing in vitro in 3D skin model showed strong effect on hyaluronic acid production. IJERPH, Vol. 17, Pages 4324: The Association between Ethanol Elimination Rate and Hangover Severity
s C Verster Assessments in blood and saliva suggests that the amount of ethanol present in the first hours after alcohol consumption and into the following morning is associated with hangover severity. The current analysis determines how ethanol elimination rate is related to hangover severity reported throughout the day. n = 8 subjects participated in two studies. The first was a naturalistic study comprising an evening of alcohol consumption. Hangover severity was assessed hourly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., using a 1-item hangover severity scale ranging from 0 (absent) to 10 (extreme). The second study comprised a highly...

IJERPH, Vol. 17, Pages 4039: Perceived Immune Fitness, Individual Strength and Hangover Severity
d Verster Various factors may contribute to alcohol hangover severity. The purpose of the current investigation was to evaluate the possible impact of alcohol consumption patterns, perceived immune status, and baseline fatigue on hangover severity. A survey was completed by a convenience sample of N = 199 Dutch students who reported on their latest past month’s heavy drinking occasion, including subjective intoxication (perceived drunkenness) and next-day hangover severity, which were rated on single-item scales ranging from 0 (absent) to 10 (extreme). In addition, perceived (momentary) immune fitness ...

Effect of single-dose, oral enzymatic porcine placental extract(EPPE) on pharmacokinetics of alcohol and liver function in rats.
CONCLUSIONS: The single-dose EPPE (0.5~2.5 g/kg) suppressed absorption of alcohol in the gastrointestinal tract. This may be useful in preventing hangover effects and toxicity after drinking alcohol and may also preserve liver health after alcohol ingestion. Optimization of Protoplast Preparation and Regeneration of a Medicinal Fungus Antrodia cinnamomea.
Authors: Wu JD, Chou JC Abstract Antrodia cinnamomea is a unique medicinal fungus in Taiwan. It has been found rich in some pharmacologically active compounds for anti-cancer, hangover, and immune regulation etc. With the in-depth study of these components, it would be interesting and important to establish a molecular system for basic studies of A. cinnamomea. Thus, we would like to set up a foundation for this purpose by studying the A. cinnamomea protoplast preparation and regeneration. Firstly, we studied the optimization method of protoplast preparation of A. cinnamomea, and found various factors that...
