Potential Mechanisms of Guizhi Fuling Wan in Treating Endometriosis: An Analysis Based on TCMSP and DisGeNET Databases
CONCLUSIONS: The current review revealed that endometriosis is highly associated with aberrant inflammatory, angiogenic, and apoptotic activities. The therapeutic effects of GFW on endometriosis are likely to act through regulating these activities.PMID:38614264 | DOI:10.1016/j.jep.2024.118190 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Rapid screening of infertility-associated gynecological conditions via ambient glow discharge mass spectrometry utilizing urine metabolic fingerprints
Talanta. 2024 Apr 8;274:125969. doi: 10.1016/j.talanta.2024.125969. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTInfertility presents a widespread challenge for many families worldwide, often arising from various gynecological diseases (GDs) that hinder successful pregnancies. Current diagnostic methods for GDs have disadvantages such as low efficiency, high cost, misdiagnose, invasive injury and etc. This paper introduces a rapid, non-invasive, efficient, and straightforward analytical method that utilizes desorption, separation, and ionization mass spectrometry (DSI-MS) platform in conjunction with machine learning (ML) to detect urine...

Gut and Vaginal Microbiota in the Endometriosis: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: In intestinal and vaginal samples from women with endometriosis, alpha-diversity did not present a significant difference when compared to the control population. However, each study individually showed a possible relationship between the female microbiota and endometriosis. This trial is registered with CRD42021260972.PMID:38601772 | PMC:PMC11006450 | DOI:10.1155/2023/2675966 (Source: Biomed Res)

Transvaginal ultrasound with bowel preparation versus transvaginal ultrasound with bowel preparation and water contrast for diagnosing Recto-Sigmoid endometriosis. A systematic review and Meta-Analysis
Transvaginal ultrasound is effective in diagnosing endometriosis involving the rectosigmoid bowel. Some authors suggest enhanced detection of rectosigmoid involvement with bowel preparation. Conversely, conflicting views argue that bowel preparation may not improve diagnostic precision, yielding similar results to rectal water contrast. No existing meta-analysis compares these approaches. Our study aims to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic performance of transvaginal ultrasound with bowel preparation, with and without rectal water contrast. Bioequivalence of Elagolix/Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate Fixed ‐Dose Combination Product: Phase 1 Results in Healthy Pre‐ and Postmenopausal Women
AbstractFixed-dose combination (FDC) therapies can enhance patient convenience and adherence to prescribed treatment regimens. Elagolix is a novel oral gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor antagonist approved for management of moderate to severe pain associated with endometriosis and heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids. Hormonal add-back therapy can attenuate the reversible hypoestrogenic effects of elagolix. An FDC formulation containing elagolix/estradiol (E2)/norethindrone acetate (NETA) 300/1/0.5  mg as the morning dose and an elagolix 300 mg capsule as the evening dose, were evaluated in 2 b...

GSE229735 Pyroptotic T-cell-derived active IL-16 has a driving function in endometriosis development
Contributors : Jinghe Zhang ; Haiming WeiSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensEndometriosis is a common, chronic inflammatory condition that frequently results in pain and infertility and is estimated to affect 6 –10% of women of reproductive age. However, the mechanisms underlying the induction of inflammation in endometriosis remain unclear. Here, we identified that ectopic endometrial T-cell-derived active interleukin (IL)-16 acts as an inflammation-driving cytokine in endometriosis. Furthermore, we fou nd that in ectopic endometrial T cells, the activation of IL-16 ...

Association of endometriosis with asthma: a study of the NHANES database in 1999-2006
CONCLUSION: Endometriosis had a positive association with asthma in adult women. Females aged 40-49 years old, with BMI of 25-29.9 kg/m2 and had a history of pregnancy should take care about monitoring endometriosis to reduce the potential risk of asthma. Further studies are still needed to clarify the causal association between endometriosis and asthma.PMID:38594768 | PMC:PMC11003178 | DOI:10.1186/s41043-024-00541-3 (Source: Journal of Health, Population, and Nutrition)
