MiRNAs related in signaling pathways of women's reproductive diseases: an overview
CONCLUSIONS: This review focuses on the investigation of miRNAs and their involvement in various reproductive disorders in women, including their molecular targets. Additionally, it explores the role of miRNAs in the development and progression of these disorders.PMID:38472662 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09357-0 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Metformin enhances epithelial cell growth inhibition via the protein kinase-insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1 pathway
CONCLUSIONS: IGFBP1 mediates aberrant stromal-epithelial communication in endometriosis. Metformin can upregulate IGFBP1 expression in EcSCs by activating AMPK, and upregulated IGFBP1 enhances the inhibition of epithelial cell proliferation. IGFBP1 is expected to be a therapeutic target for endometriosis.PMID:38466134 | DOI:10.1080/01443615.2024.2321651 (Source: Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

The Dysregulated IL-23/TH17 Axis in Endometriosis Pathophysiology
J Immunol. 2024 Mar 11:ji2400018. doi: 10.4049/jimmunol.2400018. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEndometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease in which endometrial-like tissue grows ectopically, resulting in pelvic pain and infertility. IL-23 is a key contributor in the development and differentiation of TH17 cells, driving TH17 cells toward a pathogenic profile. In a variety of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders, TH17 cells secrete proinflammatory cytokines, including IL-17, contributing to disease pathophysiology. Our studies and others have implicated IL-17 and TH17 cell dysregulation in endometriosis, which is assoc...
