Sandwich-like voltametric immunosensing of interleukin-8 based on β-cyclodextrin/carbon nanotubes and methylthionine chloride@UIO-66 framework
Anal Sci. 2024 Apr 25. doi: 10.1007/s44211-024-00574-y. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe level of interleukin-8 (IL-8) in the body is an effective factor for the early diagnosis of acute tubular necrosis and oral tumor. In this work, a novel sandwich-like voltametric immunosensor (SVS) of IL-8 was constructed by preparing β-cyclodextrin/carbon nanotube (CD/CNT) to immobilize primary antibody (PAb) of IL-8 and UIO-66-NH2 MOFs structure to immobilize second antibody (SAb) and methylene blue (Mb) probe. In this designed SVS, the prepared CD/CNT nanohybrid with large surface area and conductivity can immobilize PAb via simpl...

Planar Tetranuclear Uranium Hydride Cluster Supported by ansa-Bis(cyclopentadienyl) Ligands
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2024 Apr 25:e202405494. doi: 10.1002/anie.202405494. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPolynuclear metal hydride clusters play important roles in various catalytic processes, with most of the reported polynuclear metal hydride clusters adopting a polyhedral three-dimensional structure. Herein, we report the first example of a planar tetranuclear uranium hydride cluster [(CpCMe2CMe2Cp)U]4(μ2-H)4(μ3-H)4 (U4H8). It was synthesized by reacting an ansa-bis(cyclopentadienyl) ligand-supported uranium chloride precursor [(CpCMe2CMe2Cp)U]3(μ2-Cl)3(μ3-Cl)2 with NaHBEt3. The presence of hydrides in U4H8 was co...

Design of Solid Polycationic Electrolyte to Enable Durable Chloride-Ion Batteries
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2024 Apr 25:e202405750. doi: 10.1002/anie.202405750. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe high energy density and cost-effectiveness of chloride-ion batteries (CIBs) make them promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries. However, the development of CIBs is greatly restricted by the lack of compatible electrolytes to support cost-effective anodes. Herein, we present a rationally designed solid polycationic electrolyte (SPE) to enable room-temperature chloride-ion batteries utilizing aluminum (Al) metal as an anode. This SPE endows the CIB configuration with improved air stability and safety (i.e. fr...

Synergistic antibacterial effect and mechanism between Cu < sub > 2 < /sub > O nanoparticles and quaternary ammonium salt in moisture-curable acrylic coatings
Colloids Surf B Biointerfaces. 2024 Apr 12;238:113914. doi: 10.1016/j.colsurfb.2024.113914. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCombining with various antibacterial mechanisms is the preferred strategy to fabricate coatings with effective antibacterial performance. Herein, Cu2O nanoparticles and dimethyloctadecyl [3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl] ammonium chloride, a kind of quaternary ammonium salt (QAS), were simultaneously incorporated into a moisture-curable acrylic resin in order to achieve both contact-killing and release-killing abilities for antibacterial coatings. The surface morphology, surface composition and basic propert...

Molecules, Vol. 29, Pages 1983: High-Temperature Hydrothermal Extraction of Phenolic Compounds from Brewer & rsquo;s Spent Grain and Malt Dust Biomass Using Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents
This study proposes an innovative one-step hydrothermal extraction (HTE) at a high temperature (120 °C), utilizing environmentally friendly acidic natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) to replace conventional harmful pre-treatment chemicals and organic solvents. Brewer’s spent grain (BSG) and novel malt dust (MD) biomass sources, both obtained from beer production, were characterized and studied for their potential as PC sources. HTE, paired with mild acidic malic acid/choline chloride (MA) NADES, was compared against conventional (heated and stirred maceration) and modern (microwave-assisted ex...

Effect of prednisolone in a kindling model of epileptic seizures in rats on cytokine and intestinal microbiota diversity
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of prednisolone treatment on epileptic seizures and investigate the effect of this drug on the bacterial diversity of the intestinal microbiota and markers of inflammatory processes in intestinal tissue. We used Male Wistar rat littermates (n = 31, 90-day-old) divided into four groups: positive control treated with 2 mg/kg of diazepam (n = 6), negative control treated with 0.9 g% sodium chloride (n = 6), and the remaining two groups were subjected to treatment with prednisolone, with one receiving 1 mg/kg (n = 9) and the other 5 mg/kg (n = 10). All administrations were performed int...

Triphenyltin chloride exposure inhibits meiotic maturation of mouse oocytes by disrupting cytoskeleton assembly and cell cycle progression
This study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the toxicological effects of TPTCL on oocytes. The obtained findings revealed that TPTCL exposure reduced polar body extrusion (PBE) and induced meiotic arrest. Mechanistically, TPTCL disrupted meiotic spindle assembly and chromosome alignment. Further analysis indicated a significant decrease in p-MAPK expression, and disturbances in the localization of Pericentrin and p-Aurora A in TPTCL exposed oocytes, which suggesting impaired microtubule organizing center (MTOC)function. Moreover, TPTCL exposure enhance microtubule acetylation and microtubule instability. Theref...

Impact of Combined Aerobic Training and Magnesium Supplementation on Serum Biomarkers and microRNA-155 and microRNA-21 Expression in Adipose Tissue of Type 2 Diabetic Rats: An Eight-Week Interventional Study
CONCLUSION: The combination of AT and Mg supplementation provides a synergistic effect that improves serum biomarkers and downregulates pro-inflammatory microRNAs in the VAT of T2DM rats. Meanwhile, Mg supplementation alone does not have a significant effect on pro-inflammatory microRNAs in the VAT. These findings suggest that such combined interventions could be a promising strategy for managing T2DM, potentially ameliorating inflammatory states and improving metabolic health.PMID:38658451 | DOI:10.1007/s12011-024-04186-5 (Source: Biological Trace Element Research)
