Help me push forward
Hello SDN, This section is called "what are my chances" so just as a fair warning, I know my chances suck and its bad. What I'm looking for is constructive criticism so that I can continue my goals and make it to med school. My first 3 years of college were very bad for me as such my grades suffered. The end of my third year, I was at a 2.48 GPA and absolutely disgusted with myself for wasting 3 years of college and doing poorly. I sat with a bunch of counselors as well as talk with a... Trigger Warning: NOT a humblebrag
I've been accepted to my top choice school but have had 0 communication from any other school. I applied to 8 schools, including 3 state schools (LizzyM = 73). Should I be worried that there is something weird with my app? I have good ties with the school I've been accepted to, so maybe that's why they were willing to ignore a "red flag" per se? Story Time: Featuring Grandma ’s Mistrust for Physicians
In short: my grandmother trusts me (pre-med grandson) over qualified MDs/DOs and refuses to be seen by board certified physicians due to "greedy" physicians bad intentions to "keep people sick" *WARNING: poor grammar* So before this year, the last time my grandmother was seen by a doctor, aside from her 8 natural childbirths without complications, was a tonsillectomy in the early 1930s. She has good genes, most all of her siblings lived well into their 90s, She is in her 80s now and has an... Story Time: Featuring Grandma’s Mistrust for Physicians (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Burning out on Postdoc -- What to do?
Warning: rant thread. tl;dr at bottom I feel like it is too early in my career to feel this tired. I am exhausted every morning, dreadful and irritable about going to work. I am seeing at least 6 clients a day, oftentimes more, and usually called into triage situations to put out fires. I have an excellent workplace with great benefits and colleagues who keep me on my toes. We are always learning, and I accepted an offer to become permanent staff once I am licensed. Yet I get home at... Burning out on Postdoc -- What to do? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

8 Years out: Be careful with debt
I have been out 8 years. It has been years since I posted on SDN. I want to write this today to reach back and possibly help some of you so you can make the best decisions for yourself regarding where to go to school. My warning is about debt. But first a little background on me. I graduated from a dental school 8 years ago with about 190k in debt and did IHS and paid back 25k in student loans my first two years in addition to making 130k yr. I really enjoyed IHS for the dentistry,... 8 Years out: Be careful with debt (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I may have been slowly sinking my own ship this whole time...advice PLEASE?
Hi all (WARNING: this is going to be long so please bare with me), I recently graduated in May with a B.S. in Biology. I was delayed by two years in undergrad due to college transfers and major changes. I didn't even know when I was graduating and everything just happened in one swoop towards the end so I have not had any time at all to apply to dental school. However, I finished all my pre-requisites necessary for the track and most schools I've looked at. So now my plan is to take this...
