Is Rivaroxaban a Safe Choice for Apical Thrombus in Atrial Fibrillation Patients? A Case Report
Left ventricular thrombi are mostly seen in the akinetic segments of left ventricle and warfarin is the golden standard treatment. In our case, a 67-year-old male patient with ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation was under warfarin treatment, but due to fluctuations in international normalized ratio, warfarin was discontinued and changed to rivaroxaban (20  mg once a day). He had a fixed thrombus measuring 1.80 × 1.12 cm2 in the left ventricle under warfarin treatment before rivaroxaban use.

Immunoadsorption in a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy. The first case in Hungary.
Abstract Dilated cardiomyopathy is the main cause of heart transplantation. The etiology is unknown in almost half of the cases. Many cardiac specific antibodies have been identified till now which can cause decreased cardiac function, ventricular tachycardia or sudden heart death. Atherosclerosis and cardiovascular involvement in celiac disease: the role of autoimmunity and inflammation.
CONCLUSIONS: On the basis of the reported association among CD, AS and CV diseases, we suggest to perform a more detailed CV risk assessment in all CD patients than what is currently being achieved in clinical practice, in order to scan and treat modifiable CV risk factors in these patients. In particular, we suggest to resort to instrumental techniques to detect AS in the subclinical stage, in order to prevent AS development and CV diseases in CD patients. Super High Dose Beta-blocker Administration for the Patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy
First case is a 25-year-old female with dilated cardiomyopathy. Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) was 74  mm and ejection fraction (EF) was 29%. Carvedilol was already uptitrated to 20 mg twice daily. Right heart catheterization (RHC) revealed very low cardiac output (C.O. 2.82 l/min), cardiac index (C.I. 1.47 l/min/m2), stroke volume (SV 29 ml) and rapid heart rate (HR 96/min) despite maximu m dosage of carvedilol in Japan. Carvedilol was uptitrated to 50 mg twice daily and additional 10 mg bisoprolol twice daily was started under administration of low-dose dobutamine.

Cardioembolic stroke and cardiomyopathy: Rhythm is the key
Cardiomyopathy (CM) predisposes patients to cardioembolism. Stroke and peripheral embolization occur at an annual incidence rate of 0.8% in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) [1]. Embolic events have an incidence rate ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 per 100 patient-years in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) [2]. However, few studies have described the clinical profile of ischemic stroke associated with CM.

Whole-genome Sequencing in Familial Cases of Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease (S36.005)
Conclusions:Compared with conventional case-control association study, whole-genome sequencing simultaneously identifies both rare structural variants and SNVs associated with ICAD. This study improved our understanding on the genetic contribution of stroke in ICAD families. Thirty years of heart transplantation at the University Medical Centre Utrecht.
CONCLUSION: Over the past 30 years, patient and donor demographics and underlying diseases have shifted substantially. Furthermore, the increase in waiting time due to lack of available donor hearts has led to a rise in the use of LVADs as bridge to transplant. Importantly, an improvement in survival rates is found over time which could be explained by better immunosuppressive therapy and improvements in follow-up care. The Effects of Levosimendan and Sodium Nitroprusside Combination on Left Ventricular Functions After Surgical Ventricular Reconstruction in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Patients.
CONCLUSION: This study showed that LS and SNP combination impressive increase in left ventricular systolic and diastolic functions including LVEF. Impact of papillary muscles on ventricular function measurements in 3T cardiac magnetic resonance
Conclusion Global CMR LV parameters are significantly affected by whether TPM are considered as part of the LV blood pool or as part of LV mass.
