SPTBN2 regulates endometroid ovarian cancer cell proliferation, invasion and migration via ITGB4 ‑mediated focal adhesion and ECM receptor signalling pathway
Exp Ther Med. 2023 Apr 24;25(6):277. doi: 10.3892/etm.2023.11977. eCollection 2023 Jun.ABSTRACTOvarian cancer is as a major contributor to gynaecologic death globally. The present study aimed to investigate the regulatory role of spectrin β non-erythrocytic 2 gene (SPTBN2) in endometroid ovarian cancer and its mechanism of action. According to the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) database, SPTBN2 expression is elevated in ovarian cancer tissues and higher SPTBN2 expression indicated a worse prognosis. The present study assessed SPTBN2 mRNA and protein expression levels by reverse transcription-quanti...

SIRT3 expression alleviates microglia activation ‑induced dopaminergic neuron injury through the mitochondrial pathway
In conclusion, these results indicated that SIRT3 expression attenuated cell damage caused by microglia activation through the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway in DACs. The mitophagy-NLRP3 inflammasome pathway may also be associated with this neuroprotection. These findings may provide new intervention targets for the survival of dopaminergic neurons and the prevention and treatment of Parkinson's disease.PMID:36168411 | PMC:PMC9475350 | DOI:10.3892/etm.2022.11598

Histone Demethylase Jmjd3 Regulates the Osteogenic Differentiation and Cytokine Expressions of Periodontal Ligament Cells
Acta Med Okayama. 2022 Jun;76(3):281-290. doi: 10.18926/AMO/63722.ABSTRACTPeriodontal ligament (PDL) cells are critical for the bone remodeling process in periapical lesions since they can differentiate into osteoblasts and secrete osteoclastogenesis-promoting cytokines. Post-translational histone modifications including alterations of the methylation status of H3K27 are involved in cell differentiation and inflammatory reaction. The histone demethylase Jumonji domain-containing 3 (Jmjd3) specifically removes methylation of H3K27. We investigated whether Jmjd3 is involved in the osteogenic differentiation and secretion of ...
