Structure – property relationships in dicyanopyrazinoquinoxalines and their hydrogen-bonding-capable dihydropyrazinoquinoxalinedione derivatives
Abstract Presented here is the design, synthesis, and study of a variety of novel hydrogen-bonding-capable π-conjugated N-heteroacenes, 1,4-dihydropyrazino[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2,3-diones (DPQDs). The DPQDs were accessed from the corresponding weakly hydrogen-bonding dicyanopyrazinoquinoxaline (DCPQ) suspensions with excess potassium hydroxide, resulting in moderate to good yields. Both families of compounds were analyzed by UV–vis and NMR spectroscopy, where the consequences of hydrogen bonding capability could be assessed through the structure–property studies. Conversion of the DCPQs into hydrogen-bonding ...

Silver-Catalyzed Carbofluorination of Olefins and α-Fluoroolefins with Carbamoyl Radicals
Chemistry. 2024 May 7:e202401419. doi: 10.1002/chem.202401419. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe reactivity of carbamoyl radicals, generated in situ from sodium oxamate salts, has been investigated in the context of radical carbofluorination reactions of olefins and a-fluoroolefins, respectively. Both transformations are catalyzed by silver salts and required the presence of potassium persulfate (K2S2O8) and SelectfluorTM as a radicophilic fluorine source. The reported methods provide a direct access to beta-fluoroamides and beta,beta-difluoroamides.PMID:38712694 | DOI:10.1002/chem.202401419 (Source: Chemistry)

A high-affinity potassium transporter (MeHKT1) from cassava (Manihot esculenta) negatively regulates the response of transgenic Arabidopsis to salt stress
High-affinity potassium transporters (HKTs) are crucial in facilitating potassium uptake by plants. Many types of HKTs confer salt tolerance to plants through regulating K+ and Na+ homeostasis under salinity stre... (Source: BMC Plant Biology)
