Comparison of QTc interval changes in drug-resistant tuberculosis patients on delamanid-containing regimens versus shorter treatment regimens
CONCLUSION: This study has shown that DLM regimens are less likely to increase QTc interval compared to STR. However, close monitoring of the risk of QT interval prolongation needs to be carried out upon the use of QT interval prolonging antituberculoid drugs.PMID:38701163 | DOI:10.3233/JRS-230024 (Source: International Journal of Risk and Safety in Medicine)

Fluorinated Surface Engineering towards High-rate and Durable Potassium-ion Battery
We report an ultra-thin and KF-enriched SEI triggered by tuned fluorinated surface design in electrode. Our results reveal that fluorination engineering alters the interfacial chemical environment to facilitate inherited electronic conductivity, enhance adsorption ability of potassium, induce localized surface polarization to guide electrolyte decomposition behavior for SEI formation, and especially, enrich the KF crystals in SEI by self-sacrifice from C-F bond cleavage. Hence, the regulated fluorinated electrode with generated ultra-thin, uniform, and KF-enriched SEI shows improved capacity of 439.3 mAh g-1 (3.82 mAh cm--...

Mineralization of SF < sub > 6 < /sub > and NF < sub > 3 < /sub > fluorinated compounds for greenhouse gas abatement by oxalates
This study investigates the mineralization and removal of two potent FCs: SF6 and NF3. The results confirm that utilizing various oxalate salts leads to the formation of corresponding metallic fluorides: lithium fluoride (LiF), sodium fluoride (NaF), and potassium fluoride (KF), validating the occurrence of mineralization reactions. Among the oxalate salts, sodium oxalate demonstrates the highest mineralization efficiency in both SF6 and NF3 removal. Real-time Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) gas-phase analysis confirms rapid and complete gas removal within a short reaction time using the selected oxalate sa...

Black soldier fly larvae bioconversion and subsequent composting promote larval frass quality during pig and chicken manure transformation process
Bioresour Technol. 2024 May 1:130777. doi: 10.1016/j.biortech.2024.130777. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThis research systematically assessed the changes in carbon, nitrogen and microbial profiling during pig and chicken manure transformation by black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) and subsequent composting process. BSFL had higher conversion efficiency for chicken manure. The pH, phosphorus and potassium contents in fresh BSFL frass increased than raw manure, but conductivity, total-/nitrate-/ammonium-nitrogen decreased. After BSFL conversion, pig manure had a larger nitrogen loss (25 %) while chicken manure had a larger carb...

Study of Association of Chromosomal Region 1Q21-23 with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Their Correlation with Severity of Disease
CONCLUSION: Bigger cohort studies will allow better genomic elucidation of clinically defined intermediate phenotypes evaluated in RA patients by virtue of the autoimmune origin of the disease and its diverse symptoms in patients. Genetic-molecular studies can be a milestone for adopting effective personalized treatment for such progressively debilitating diseases. How to cite this article: Gauri LA, Meena MK, Singh U, et al. Thermoregulatory pathway underlying the pyrogenic effects of prostaglandin E < sub > 2 < /sub > in the lateral parabrachial nucleus of male rats
In this study, we investigated whether the LPBN-preoptic area (POA) pathway, the thermoafferent pathway for feed-forward thermoregulatory responses, mediates fever induced by intra-LPBN PGE2 in male rats. The core temperature (Tcore) was monitored using a temperature radiotelemetry transponder implanted in rat abdomen. We showed that microinjection of PGE2 (0.28 nmol) into the LPBN significantly enhanced the density of c-Fos-positive neurons in the median preoptic area (MnPO). The chemical lesioning of MnPO with ibotenate or selective genetic lesioning or inhibition of the LPBN-MnPO pathway significantly attenuated fever i...
