Why Pharmacovigilance of Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs is Important in India?
CONCLUSION: In order to rationally prescribe NSAIDs, it is essential to be aware of probable ADR's and establish prescription guidelines. Prescribers' behaviour can be changed toward excellent prescribing practices by conducting routine prescription assessments dealing with NSAIDs and providing feedback. In the near future, it will be critical to strengthen ADR data management and expand the reach of pharmacovigilance programs, ADR monitoring centers, and healthcare professionals' especially pharmacists' training in rural locations.PMID:37855282 | DOI:10.2174/0118715303247469230926092404 (Source: Endocrine, Metabolic and I...

Vaccination against Extracellular Vimentin for Treatment of Urothelial Cancer of the Bladder in Client-Owned Dogs
Cancers (Basel). 2023 Aug 3;15(15):3958. doi: 10.3390/cancers15153958.ABSTRACTIt was recently shown that targeting extracellular vimentin (eVim) is safe and effective in preclinical models. Here, we report the safety and efficacy in client-owned dogs with spontaneous bladder cancer of CVx1, an iBoost technology-based vaccine targeting eVim in combination with COX-2 inhibition. This was a single-arm prospective phase 1/2 study with CVx1 in 20 client-owned dogs with spontaneous UC which involved four subcutaneous vaccinations with CVx1 at 2-week intervals for induction of antibody titers, followed by maintenance vaccinations...

Anti-inflammatory and arthritic activity of zaltoprofen compared to piroxicam in murine models
Bioinformation. 2022 Sep 30;18(9):752-756. doi: 10.6026/97320630018752. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTZaltoprofen, a unique propionic acid group of NSAIDs, works by blocking the enhancing effects of bradykinin along with the COX-2 enzyme. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the acute and chronic anti-inflammatory (arthritic) potential of zaltoprofen versus piroxicam in Murine models. A total of 48 Wister rats (200-250 g) of either sex (24 in each model) were used in the present study. The anti-inflammatory and arthritic potential of zaltoprofen was evaluated and compared by Carrageenan-induced acute inflammation and formal...

Regional characterisation of TRPV1 and TRPA1 signalling in the mouse colon mucosa
Eur J Pharmacol. 2023 Jun 30:175897. doi: 10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175897. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCapsaicin and allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) activate transient receptor potential (TRP) vanilloid-1 (TRPV1) and TRP ankyrin-1 (TRPA1), respectively. TRPV1 and TRPA1 expression have been identified in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. GI mucosal functions remain largely undefined for TRPV1 and TRPA1 with side-dependence and regional differences in signalling unclear. Here we investigated TRPV1- and TRPA1-induced vectorial ion transport as changes in short-circuit current (ΔIsc), in defined segments of mouse colon mucosa (asce...
