Factors that influence the administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) to trauma patients in prehospital settings: a systematic review
Conclusions This review highlights an absence of high-quality research. Preliminary evidence suggests a host of system and individual-level factors that may be important in determining whether TXA is administered to trauma patients in the prehospital setting. The global impact of tobacco control policies on smokeless tobacco use: a systematic review
Lancet Glob Health. 2023 Jun;11(6):e953-e968. doi: 10.1016/S2214-109X(23)00205-X.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: Smokeless tobacco, used by more than 300 million people globally, results in substantial morbidity and mortality. For smokeless tobacco control, many countries have adopted policies beyond the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which has been instrumental in reducing smoking prevalence. The impact of these policies (within and outside the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control) on smokeless tobacco use remains unclear. We aimed to systematically review policies that are relevant to smokeless tobacco and its conte...

Surgical implementation gap: an interrupted time series analysis with interviews examining the impact of surgical trials on surgical practice in England
Conclusion While practice does not always change in the direction indicated by clinical trials, our results suggest that individuals, official committees and professional societies do assimilate trial evidence. Decision-makers seem to respond to the totality of evidence such that there are often plausible reasons for not adopting the evidence of any one trial in isolation. (Source: BMJ Quality and Safety)

NHS staff awareness, attitudes and actions towards the change in organ donation law in England —results of the #options survey 2020
ConclusionsNHS staff in England were well informed about the change in organ donation legislation and levels of support were high. NHS staff were six times more likely than the public to have a conversation with their family about their organ donation choices. The size and ethnic diversity of the NHS workforce offers an opportunity to enable and support NHS staff to be advocates for organ donation and raise awareness of the change in legislation amongst their communities.
