Would a Master of Arts in Teaching (Biology) help me get into medical school?
Hello everyone, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a 3.0 GPA. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education Biology Track). In this graduate degree I have to complete Algebra and Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus II, Principles of Genetics, Botany, Ecology, Zoology, Microbiology and Immunology, a Biology Seminar, General Chemistry I and II, and College Physics I only. All of these classes are 100 to 200 level undergraduate prep classes in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nursing program doesn't like my science major classes - Okay to repeat them in the version they want without jeopardizing med school application?
I am co-applying to a few different programs because they're all competitive and I want to be safe. My B.S. in Biology is not very employable on its own and I'll need to do some further school in some form. The BSN program is really persnickity about what pre-req classes it wants. A lot of the ones I took for my Biology major (my Microbiology geared towards natural science majors, my Physiology geared towards natural science majors, etc.) are not things they'll accept. They want the other... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC + Any other schools I should apply to? (High DAT, Low GPA)
Hey there, I'm finishing up my apps for this cycle and want to know if there are any other schools I should add. My DAT, experience/shadowing, and ECs are all solid. My GPA for undergrad was only okay (3.5 GPA, 3.35 sGPA), but I did a post bac and did worse due to health issues (3.0 GPA), which I explained in my apps. There are a lot of schools I can't apply to because I haven't taken calculus (no Boston U), anatomy/physio (no AT schools, Las Vegas, NE), or microbiology. Thanks in... Prerequisite courses- how important is it to finish them if not required for a school I get admitted to?
Hi! I am a little confused about how future courses option work for dental schools. Any help is appreciated. I am missing microbiology and organic chemistry lab prerequisites for one of the schools that I'm applying to. And to be eligible to apply, I'll put those courses in the future courses section of my application (if needed I'll take them in winter 2022). So I was wondering what happens if I get admitted to a school that does not require microbiology and organic chem-lab as... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Advice on Johns Hopkins vs Columbia programs
Hello, I’ve been accepted to Johns Hopkins MHS program in microbiology and immunology, and Columbia’s MS in Human Nutrition program. They are both a one year programs. However JH is 64 credits (a good chunk of those is allotted to writing your thesis) Columbia is a little over 33 credits ( depending on what electives you choose). The amount of credits for JH is slightly concerning as it seems accelerated. They both seem to have success with alumni getting into medical school (I’ve struggled... Biomedical PhD with schizoaffective disorder
I’m kind of getting the idea that medical school is not really an option for me with schizoaffective disorder because licensing may be an issue, but would a PhD in microbiology and immunology be feasible? I understand that a lot of people in my position simply get on disability and smoke cigarettes all day, but I really want to make something of myself and am wondering if this is a plausible path for me.
