"Med-school"-like courses at CC or random upper level sci at 4 yr
Like, if you can take anatomy, physiology, Microbiology , etc at a cc Versus taking course like ornithology, biology of sex, biology of sensation and perception, etc at a 4 year Assuming as a post-bac where one can go to either, what would be best? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I retake Chemistry II?
Hello all, I am considering pharmacy as my future career but I want to plan out my courses before I go into it 100%. I graduated with a 3.6 in Psychology. I don't know what my science GPA is but I do have a C in Bio 2 and Chem 2. I am planning on retaking Bio 2. I was wondering if it would most likely be a good idea to retake Chemistry II or if I should wait and see what my organic 1 and 2 grades come out to be? I still need to take Organic 1 and 2, genetics, and microbiology. I don't think... Should I retake Chemistry II? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What major?
So right now I am completing my under grad at a CC. Then I will transfer to a 4 year. But I'm not sure what to major in. I have narrowed it down to : Biology Biochem Biochem/micro Microbiology OR business A lot of people say to major in biochem or something science related. So I was leaning towards biochem and microbiology because bio is too broad of a subject IMO. I have also read that business is great to major in because dentistry is like a business and you really need to have business... What major? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

DVM or PhD in animal science?
Hi everyone, I am currently an undergraduate biology student struggling to decide between continuing my education in veterinary school or in a graduate program in the animal sciences. I have experience working for a veterinarian as well as working in a microbiology research lab. If I were to go for a DVM, I would definitely want to specialize (either nutrition or sports medicine and physical therapy) since working in a general practice does not seem to be for me. I am somewhat skeptical of... DVM or PhD in animal science? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chances at DO schools?
So with the new policy coming for DO schools I figured now is about as good a time as any to finally get some advice since my plan is a bit less clear now. General stats and info below: cGPA/sGPA should be ~3.4/3.3 assuming the next semester goes well (3.52/3.52 if I had been able to use grade replacement). MCAT - 503 (126/124/127/126) Texas resident, BS in microbiology, 30+ year old non-trad, caucasian 80 - 100 hours of clinical volunteering and around 2,000 hours as a... Chances at DO schools? What's your Microbiology professor's opinion on Sketchymicro?
My professor seems very callous towards it. In our first class, she preferred learning it the hard way. Over time, I thought she kinda warmed up to it, but her slides as a lot of information that's not found in sketchy. I think that means she still hasn't gotten over it and is somehow forcing us to look at her slides instead. What are your microbio professor's opinion on sketchy? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Taking courses to prepare for dental school
Hey guys, I want to take A&P and possibly microbiology before dental school to prepare a bit. I graduated last year from college and was wondering what options I have. Is there a way to take these courses, I have interviews coming up and a job so I don't think I will be able to enroll in a community college. Is there any other options, i don't mind if it is on my record just want to learn. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Psychiatry vs ID
Hi, I'm a current psych intern and just started medicine months. During the basic science years of medical school, my favorite subject was microbiology and antibiotics. During third and fourth year, my academic streak sort of lapsed because the clinical environment was overwhelming for me, the teaching was poor, and I didn't study guidelines and the practice of clinical medicine as much as I should have. I dislike multi-tasking, procedures, and emergency settings(ICU is out lol). I enjoyed... Psychiatry vs ID (Source: Student Doctor Network)
