Competitive PCAT scores?? VCU is goal!
I took the PCAT for the first time in September and here are my scores: Bio 35 Reading 46 Math 94 Chem 91 Overall 75 Writing 3 Junior, Microbiology major, GPA 3.49, I currently am doing research for a pharmaceutical company. I have also worked in a pharmacy since I was 16 and have been a tech for 2 years now. Should I retake the PCAT before I apply next summer? My bio score is crazy low which is sad because I am a bio major haha. I used Dr. collins and the pearson tests, which predicted me... Competitive PCAT scores?? VCU is goal! What should I do to improve my chances?
Hello, I'm looking for any advice that anyone who knows more than me might have. I am graduating Spring 2018 as a dual major (Microbiology and nutrition) from University of Florida. I was doing just okay in my classes until my girlfriend of 3+ years broke up with me out of the blue, that semester(fall 2016) my grades tanked. I had a 1.44 GPA. I was taking all science classes so it really hurt my sGPA. I was planning on using the grade forgiveness policy for that semester but as you all know... What should I do to improve my chances? Sacrifice Class Rank for Step 1
Ok. So I've heard of people dropping school to study for step 1, but that in my mind that seems convoluted because you are learning what shows up on Step 1 in your courses. For me though, I have to take 2 classes at my school that are very non step 1 related but they are worth a ton of credits. I focus alot of my energy on Pathology, Pharmacology and Microbiology and do very well but end up just getting by in the rest of the classes that won't help me in Step 1. Is it that bad to not focus... Sacrifice Class Rank for Step 1 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Taking easy classes to boost gpa
I am a sophomore at a large public university currently have a very low BCPM GPA (3.81) and am very disappointed with it. All my other friends have 3.9+ GPAs. What I'm really mad about is how one class (upper level microbiology), was responsible for dropping me from a 3.91 to a 3.81 cause I bombed the last exam (I was doing fine the first three exams). I was wondering what are your thoughts on taking 3 1000 level chemistry classes, 3 1000 level bio courses, and 3 1000 level physics classes... Take Microbiology Spring Semester?
Hello all, I am contemplating on whether or not to take microbiology in my last semester of undergraduate. I was accepted to my top dental school on December 1st. Microbiology is not a core prerequisite is is just a course that was recommended to be taken at this dental school. I am leaning towards not taking it as I would love to have a very relaxed last semester of my undergraduate degree! I do not need to take Micro in order to graduate with a B.S. in Biology in May 2018. I only have 8... Take Microbiology Spring Semester? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nursing School Vs Med School, no comparison.
As someone who is about to complete medical school, and who went through nursing school for a BSN, the knowledge gap between the two is exponential. In light of recent arguments made by militant nurses who argue that the required nursing courses to complete an associates degree or BSN is just as good as medical school. First you take an A&P, 101 course on microbiology, a introductory 12 week course in "orgo/gen chem, Biochem" all combined superficially in 12 weeks, 12 week course in... How exactly does this work?
Hi everyone, I'm applying to post bacc programs in the spring because my GPA is somewhat weak (3.25, science...somewhat lower) and I didn't have time to take my MCAT being that I finished biochem in August and the last date was a month later. I am currently a senior microbiology major at Ohio state. In your opinion, is it better to enroll in a post bacc program that has a direct linkage to a medical school (i.e. One that is hosted through a college of medicine and offers an interview upon...
