Insufficient vaccine coverage and vaccine hesitancy in people living with HIV: A prospective study in outpatient clinics in the Paris region
Vaccine. 2024 May 6:S0264-410X(24)00516-4. doi: 10.1016/j.vaccine.2024.04.077. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVaccine prevention strategies play a crucial role in the management of people living with HIV (PLWH). The aim of this study was to assess vaccination coverage and identify barriers to vaccine uptake in PLWH in the Paris region. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in PLWH in 16 hospitals in the Paris region. The vaccination status, characteristics, opinions, and behaviors of participants were collected using a face-to-face questionnaire and from medical records. A total of 338 PLWH were included (response rate 99....

The Stress Phenotyping Framework: A multidisciplinary biobehavioral approach for assessing and therapeutically targeting maladaptive stress physiology
Stress. 2024 Jan;27(1):2327333. doi: 10.1080/10253890.2024.2327333. Epub 2024 May 6.ABSTRACTAlthough dysregulated stress biology is becoming increasingly recognized as a key driver of lifelong disparities in chronic disease, we presently have no validated biomarkers of toxic stress physiology; no biological, behavioral, or cognitive treatments specifically focused on normalizing toxic stress processes; and no agreed-upon guidelines for treating stress in the clinic or evaluating the efficacy of interventions that seek to reduce toxic stress and improve human functioning. We address these critical issues by (a) systematical...

Incidence and risk factors of PICC-related thrombosis in breast cancer: a meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: The incidence rate of peripherally inserted central catheter-related thrombosis in breast cancer patients was 7.0% (95% confidence interval: 4.0-13.0%). Body mass index ≥ 25, D-dimer >500 ng/ml, elevated fibrinogen, elevated platelet count and catheter malposition were risk factors for peripherally inserted central catheter-related thrombosis in breast cancer patients.PMID:38711392 | DOI:10.1093/jjco/hyae055 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)

Kaempferol efficacy in metabolic diseases: Molecular mechanisms of action in diabetes mellitus, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, steatohepatitis, and atherosclerosis
Biomed Pharmacother. 2024 May 6;175:116694. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2024.116694. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe incidence of metabolic diseases has progressively increased, which has a negative impact on human health and life safety globally. Due to the good efficacy and limited side effects, there is growing interest in developing effective drugs to treat metabolic diseases from natural compounds. Kaempferol (KMP), an important flavonoid, exists in many vegetables, fruits, and traditional medicinal plants. Recently, KMP has received widespread attention worldwide due to its good potential in the treatment of metabolic di...
