Need some advice on how to be a better PsyD candidate
Hello everyone. I am an international student, and I want to get into university-based Psy.d programs. Sadly, almost no student (less than 10 I guess) in my country ever applied/attended Psy.d programs. Therefore, I couldn't find any useful guidance. My plan is to take one year off after graduation (presumably next year) to increase my eligibility. Currently, I have two clinical-related internships: one is helping to provide LGBT-friendly counseling service to LGBT people, another one is... HSPH Work experience
For the MPH-65 credit for Harvard, they say they want two years of work experience. Does work experience and internships during undergrad count? Or are they specifically looking for post-grad work experience? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Who is allowed to be in the pharmacy?
Hey everyone. Just wanted to know who is all allowed from a legal perspective to be inside the pharmacy. Obviously pharmacists, pharmacy interns, certified techs, tech trainees are all allowed. If you have a cashier person (not licensed as a tech) for the sole purpose of ringing out people at the pharmacy, can they be located inside the pharmacy area where inventory is located? I am not too sure on what the rules are on that so would be great if someone can enlighten me. Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Sub-I in Internal, Flexibility for Interviews?
Hi everyone, Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I was offered 2 sub-internships (aways) in medicine: at a Kaiser hospital in Northern California, and at one of the UCs. It's in January, when I already have interviews scheduled. Does anyone know how flexible these programs are with regards to allowing travel for interviews? To note, I am not applying to internal medicine. And this Sub-I was a mandatory requirement for my SOM and I wanted to be back home for a month to... Sub-I in Internal, Flexibility for Interviews? What should I be doing as a 1st year grad student to be competitive for neuro internships?
I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but I also know neuro internships are extremely competitive. I'm a first-year student at a university-based PsyD program (not Rutgers/Baylor, but probably around the group below that). I'm currently doing neuro assessments and writing integrated reports in one of the school's clinics. I'm involved in some research, but trying to get involved in more. What else should I be doing in my first year and in general to make myself competitive for neuro track... What should I be doing as a 1st year grad student to be competitive for neuro internships? Internship supervisors in a relationship
I have an ethical situation that I'm surprised I haven't been able to find an information on how to deal with yet. During the middle of my internship year, the primary supervisors ended up leaving the clinic and two new supervisors were hired on. It quickly became very apparent that these two supervisors were forming a very close relationship and had moved in together. I and the other interns were already experiencing problems in supervision such as feeling that we were being given... Internship supervisors in a relationship (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Kroger Pharmacy Tips and Advices
Hello everyone, I am a P3 student starting my job as an intern at Kroger pharmacy (King Soopers) very soon. The chain is completely new to me, so I would truly appreciate any tips or advices from everyone on how to efficiently use the pharmacy computer system, to maintain a smooth workflow, or any other tips in general. I'm hoping this thread can be helpful for all interns (or even the pharmacists) who may work for Kroger in the future. There aren't many posts associated with... Business to OT - Is it for me?!
Hello all! I am looking for perspective and any insight on making a career change from the business world to OT. I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Resource Economics, with a business concentration. This major was a part of our School of Social Behavioral Sciences and revolved around using economic principles to make decisions in business. Throughout my internships and work experiences, I have worked in HR, Marketing, Events and Sales. After hours of thought, research and reflection I... Business to OT - Is it for me?! Not being a doctor after residency?
Sorry this will be a rant, I just needed some honest advice and I'm not comfortable bringing this up with anyone in my program without having really thought it through. I just met with my PD for our 3 month eval, and it was clear that I'm doing worse than the other interns and struggling behind, despite much effort on my part over these last two months. Now, everyone has been very supportive, and they're trying to arrange for me to get extra help so I can catch up to everyone else, but it's... Not being a doctor after residency? [SERIOUS] Do LORs Need to *Specifically* Address Why I'm a Good Fit for Medical School?
Basically what the title says. For the LORs that I send to medical schools, must the letters *explicitly* discuss why I would make a good physician, OR is it sufficient for them to simply discuss my character, work ethic, etc. and let the Adcoms make their own connections as to how those testimonies of my character signal my capacity to be a good physician? I ask this because... -I am taking a gap year, and before applying to medical school, I WILL need to use those LORs for internships.... What is considered an internship/residency acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General?
*I'm not sure if this was posted somewhere else but I couldn't find it, please delete if duplicated* I've been recently looking at civilian job posting working with the military. I attended an APA program, but due to not having an advisor (she abruptly quit my institution) or much guidance around internship apps, I applied to a mix of APA and non-APA internships. I thought that anything on the APPIC website was good to go, and I matched with the only non-APA site on my rank list. It's an... CVS hiring method?
Hi, I did an in-person interview with CVS last week and it went extremely well... the next day I got an e-mail stating they had availability/openings for grad interns in my preferred location and they got in contact and sent my application to Mississippi (which is where I told the interviewer where I wanted to go). They said someone would be contacting me from the area soon. What is the next step of this process? Do they interview again or is a potential job offer on the line? Never... CVS hiring method? GRE advice... again
Hello everyone. I posted a couple of months ago about taking my GRE in July. Due to some issues that came up with internships and classes, I ended up taking it on August 19. Due to the way my clinicals started I had about a week to really study. I did not do as well as I'd hoped (297). I am applying to five schools and have everything completed on my PTCAS except GRE scores. Now I have time to retake it and still apply to three of the schools, but two of them have deadlines of October 2,... GRE advice... again (Source: Student Doctor Network)
