Where should I start? MD/PhD, maybe a bit late in the game
Hi everybody, I'm a rising sophomore bioengineering major at a decently well known large state school. I have always wanted to go into scientific research of some sort, and was pretty much set on getting a PhD since high school. Last semester, I started out in a computational biology lab that I find interesting and will likely continue to work in through my college career (along with possible research internships/summer programs in related fields/other fields of interest later on)... Tips for New FM Residents
Hello, I will be starting my FM residency come July 1st with all the new interns. My non-finalized schedule shows I will be starting OB first then AMB/Peds then Surg. Can you guys offer any tips in terms of starting a new rotation, how you move from rotation to rotation (similar to med school but more at stake) and how to go about being/seeming competent. I haven't done anything resembling OB since my 3rd year almost 1.5 years ago, and at that time was not required to do much in terms of... Tips for New FM Residents (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Take EPPP Before 2020?
Hi all, I am completing internship right now, and had heard talk from other interns (and just searched through a few older posts on this forum) about the EPPP changes. In order to save money, time, and hassle, it looks like it would be worth making an effort to take this before 2020, at which time the EPPP will become twice the cost and will require two parts from what I have heard and according to this... Will paid intern pharmacist positions go away in the future and cause a ripple effect?
I have seen and heard that many chains and hospitals have been cutting hours and positions for intern pharmacists as the saturation problem gets worse and as corporations seek to continually shave operating costs. This leads me to believe that within the next decade, we may see paid intern positions being phased out altogether and replaced instead by volunteer intern positions. So if it is getting harder and harder for students to find internships, and schools also have a harder time finding... OMFS programs known to take their own interns
I applied last cycle and didn't match, so I've spent this year improving my CBSE and doing an additional externship. I know at this point a non-cat year will be expected of me and I'm prepared to do one (I'm a very non traditional applicant, Canadian who graduated in 2014), but I was wondering if there was a list/thread/post somewhere with information on OMF programs who are known to accept their good interns as residents. Alternatively, does anyone know of any Canadian-friendly programs... OMFS programs known to take their own interns (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Evidence based guidelines/research
Hello all, Anyone have a list of major papers/guidelines to guide interns/residents during clinic? For example, pt comes in and has meniscal tear symptoms but also has arthritis. Previous papers i've read suggest that outcomes are the same for patients who have knee scope vs patients who go through physical therapy. It would be nice to be able to quote or tell patients "based on evidence, these are the options and these are the outcomes". Another example, you suggest small RTC tear and you...
