Orthodontics Internship?Fellowship Programs worth it?
Hello guys, I just wanted to ask if it is worth doing the ORTHO intern/fellow program at these universities and if interns match at the program or others? Is it worth doing these programs? Anyone got accepted after the internship or heard of anyone who got accepted recently? Thank You. Feeling lost completely (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Unopposed residencies, have they gotten worse overall?
In theory, unopposed programs should be strong and give you more procedural opportunities among other things. But from my interview experiences last year and half a dozen friends' experiences... here were some things that came up and I'll divide them into 2 sections. Small community and/or rural hospitals - low volume, small census ("2 interns had to share a patient once") - limited pathology in some cases - ICU level patients are typically managed on the floor in big centers... Summer Internships or Continue ECs & Research?
Are summer internships (e.g. research) worth pursuing, given that they are typically 8-12 weeks in a single summer, or is it better to continue ECs and research? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Internal Medicine
Just began Internal Medicine, inpatient. It is fascinating but I feel like it's all over my head. I'm still learning how to use Epic. I see so much info and not sure what's relevant or how to pre-chart fast. My attending asks a ton of pimp questions to me and the interns-I'm left baffled. Does it ever get better? And if so when? Is IM/surg the hardest rotation? I read up on my patients/their conditions...but, it's overwhelming... (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What are grad intern salaries nowadays?
With job postings such as this, I’m predicting that retail pharmacist salaries will bottom out at around $20-25/hr within the next few years. This is less than the going rate for grad interns as it currently stands. What do you predict is going to be the new going rate for grad interns? Technician salary of $16/hr? Rundown on additional schooling?
Hey all, working on a biology degree now and hoping that vet med is in my future but I’ve got a question. What is the difference between internships, externships, and residency’s, etc... All after graduation? Before? Are they needed for all disciplines? Just give me a rundown thanks!! Also what’s the deal with clinical rotations at schools like Lincoln memorial or western? I was told that you have to work for vets of your choosing to get your clinical hours in, is this true? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Neuro track internship competitiveness?
Having a little bit of impostor syndrome with internship applications around the corner. I know there are several members here involved in app review, so I was hoping I could get some feedback on whether or not I'm competitive for the sites I'm aiming for. I plan on applying exclusively in Phase 1 to APA-accredited sites with neuro track internships (HCG/50% neuro) at a mix of hospitals, AMCs, and VAs. I'm not geographically restricted, so I'm trying to avoid the popular metro areas that... Neuro track internship competitiveness? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What are our guidelines?
It seems most fields have guidelines telling you pretty much exactly what to do and what’s first line for all of the various diseases/disorders. What guidelines should we be learning as interns/residents? Thx (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Psychotherapy Field
Hi. So, I finally got my LCPC and am about to take my LMFT exam. I am a career changer so I didn't know a lot about members of the field. Schools are graduating hordes of counseling and social workers every year. Initially, no one wanted to take interns or LPC's until Obamacare and the Marketplace. Suddenly, fully licensed clinicians realized they could have large group practices and make money, big money by taking on interns to work for free seeing welfare and low reimbursing insurance... Prereqs at CC vs Postbacc?
Hey everyone! I’m a recent graduate from UC Irvine with a BA in a social science major. The last 2 quarters, I didn’t really I didn’t want to pursue a career related to my major or the internships that I had been doing. I’m planning on starting Prereqs to go to OT school, but I was wondering if there was any preference on courses taking at a 2 year community college vs. a 4 year University? I’m considering an informal post bacc at a state college, but would much rather do it at a CC because... Prereqs at CC vs Postbacc? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CVS New Grad Offers
CVS announced sometime last year that they were lowering pay for incoming new grads this year. Any new grads want to share their CVS salary/hourly offer? In CA, wages were cut by at least 10% according to some of my grad interns (66 to 58-60) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Internship and PTO
Hi Everyone, I will be starting internship in a few weeks (yikes!) and I am wondering if anyone has insight on what internships might think about asking for time off right when I get started so that I can book flights. I have a few weddings this Fall/Winter out of state and I am just curious about how supervisors may feel about being asked about PTO during our first supervision session. Also, in your experience, was it easy to use your PTO? I come from a job in the past that rarely allowed... Internship and PTO (Source: Student Doctor Network)
