Which jobs to add to the Experiences section?
I understand we are adding things that are most relevant to our experiences that contribute towards medical school such as: volunteer work, college internships, research experiences (i don't have any), and healthcare experiences into the experiences section, but should we add other jobs, like say someone worked as a part-time in retail or in the dining hall, or etc.. for 1, 2,3, 4 years (or some other significant duration) through college? I'm at about 10 experiences with all my... Which jobs to add to the Experiences section? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-APA Accredited Clinical Programs
There's been a lot of talk about APA-accredited programs that are a little suspect, but very little has been discussed about clinical psych programs that are non-APA accredited. How disadvantaged are students who apply to those programs if they eventually want to be liscensed or want to get a job after getting a PhD? Do they have problems getting APA accredited internships? It seems that there are a few experimental psychopathology programs (i.e. Harvard) or developmental clinical programs... Non-APA Accredited Clinical Programs (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Healthcare and diversity?
I was recently doing some internships papers and I came across around the question about what is diversity and how important is that in the healthcare field? Any thoughts or ideas? I definitely think it is a tricky question to weed out the average responses. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CMI program extended, expanded, and restructured
Casting the doom and gloom prophecies aside, Australia looks to be by far the best option for IMGs moving forward. This year there were a surplus of CMI internships, meaning 100% of Aussie-trained IMGs who wanted an internship received one. Next year the program is being renamed to the Junior Doctor Training Program, and soon to have spots expanded from 100 to 115 in 2020. They are also removing the return of service obligations in the contract. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pharmacy school is so overpriced!!
Just talking to my interns the amount of tuition is off the charts. My interns average 200k or more for loans. Have any of you wanting to go into this profession actually sat down and thought about how long it would take to pay that off or how much interest it will be if you don't pay it off especially now that the rate is like 4.45%!? Just to compare my interest rate was 2.8% and i borrowed only 100k ish and that dragged me down forever and i was pretty much paying about 2.5k to loans... Pharmacy school is so overpriced!! Resources in Residency
Hey guys and gals, I’m an FM intern and i was wondering what resources other than uptodate you all use to continue learning about medicine. Im trying to find videos that are short and to the point to help relearn and review info ive read on uptodate. Other than that im just trying to be an all around better resident and physician for my patients and the future interns that will be working with me. I definitely feel like mu confidence level is pretty low at this point, and im getting nervous... Resources in Residency (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Jeff Bezos on Work-Life Balance...
Jeff Bezos says his advice to Amazon interns and execs is to stop aiming for work-life 'balance' — here’s what you should strive for instead "Bezos believes that his new hires should stop attempting to achieve "balance" within their professional and personal lives, since that implies a strict tradeoff between the two. Instead, Bezos envisions a... Jeff Bezos on Work-Life Balance... (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Australian physician salary data
I finally found some real salary data for physicians in Australia. This website outlines the different salary grades at the public hospitals in Queensland (keep in mind that Brisbane has a lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne): http://www.health.qld.gov.au/medical/md_rem_packages.asp It seems like about what everybody's been saying here. Interns and residents (first 3 yrs after med school) average about $61k-$72k as a base salary (38 hrs/week), plus overtime pay and... Australian physician salary data (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Poor board scores, is Heme/Onc still possible?
Incoming resident here. I’m interested in Heme/Onc but my step 1 and 2 scores are in the 220s. I’m an US allopathic grad going to a mid-tier university IM program. I will be trying my best to become a good intern the first year and then plan to get somewhat involved in some clinical research 2nd year. My clinical evaluations have always been superb (honored medicine 3rd year and sub-internships) so I think I can get strong letters. For an average/below-average scores applicant like me,... DIY Post Bacc or Formal Post Bacc if missing four classes?
I am a graduating senior from NYU who took about half of the pre-med requirements. I decided against going to medicine, but my internships after my junior year made me realize that I would like to be a doctor, but it was too late to get all the requirements in as well as complete my major and college's specific requirement courses. My undergrad g.p.a is 3.51 graduating with a double majoring in Sociology and Public Policy (B.A degree). I still have to complete Org II, Physics I and II and... Step 2 CS and Intern Year
I recently found out that unfortunately, I failed my step 2 cs. This was a huge shock to me as I’m a 4th yr allopathic student and have done well with SPs throughout my clerkship and sub internships. I’m not terribly worried about the match because all the rank order lists have already been submitted at this point, but I am worried if I’ll be able to start intern year without a passing grade in Step 2 CS. Does anybody know if prelim med or transitional year programs require passing Step 2 CS... Step 2 CS and Intern Year (Source: Student Doctor Network)
