CMS Cuts
So, CMS is looking to cut most of our codes by 11%. We are currently in the open comment period for this, and are falling behind nationally on goals for number of people commenting. This most likely directly affects all of you, or will eventually (students, interns, postdocs), so please take the couple minutes to use the link and leave a comment about these cuts and your opposition. APA provides a cut and paste template, but please personalize it to your specific situation. [URL... CMS Cuts (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Healthcare internships as pass/fail
My university offers healthcare internships with hospitals and other healthcare facilities for a semester, we do get 3 academic credit hours for it, but there is no grading. It is listed as pass/ fail in the transcript and not counted in your GPA calculation. Will that be a problem in the final application and does the pass/fail grading have to be explained in a separate section ? Will it look terrible if we do more than 1 of these ? Can these be listed as extra curricular health care... Healthcare internships as pass/fail (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CSU Class of 2025
Hey all I'm trying to figure out what previous applicants that have been accepted have put into the CSU supplemental application. When it comes to the academic record where you input your course load, volunteer hours and working hours I don't want to seem like I am lying but I had sooooo much volunteering and work experience while I was taking classes. Even though I only took 12 credits some terms I was taking 4 credits of internships (each internship credit was 60 hours) so I want it to... CSU Class of 2025 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Neuropsychology Post-Doc Questions
I am on a >50%-time-dedicated-to-neuropsychology internship, I have completed two years of neuropsychology practica, my dissertation is neuropsychology-related, and I am very teachable, non-defensive, and easy to get along with. I'm from a university-based APA-accredited program, and am in an APA-accredited internship. Some questions: Do you think I'm going to have a difficult time matching for neuro post-doc? Are the post-docs as competitive as neuropsych internships? What are the... Neuropsychology Post-Doc Questions (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Recent ugrad/software engineer considering MD/PhD
Hi all, I'm a recent Cornell grad, and am looking into applying to MD/PhD programs in 2-3 years. I graduated with a biology major and computer science minor (cGPA: 3.6). I've taken most of the premed requirements, including general bio and chemistry, orgo, biochem, genetics, and physics. I did software engineering internships at Google during all three of my undergraduate summers, and will be starting work there as a software engineer in a couple weeks. I'm new to SDN, but was hoping to... Recent ugrad/software engineer considering MD/PhD (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Staying Sane In Insane Times
Greetings everyone! A colleague and I are exploring developing a webcast/podcast by and for psychologists (and students/interns). Basically, we enjoyed our "social distancing" video chats about managing life/work and thought... hey, wonder who else is trying to stay afloat as the world turns upside down. Spurred by the quick upheaval of life as we know it due to COVID-19 along with the national/global response to police brutality, we want to connect with fellow psychologists and provide a... Neuropsychology
I have recently been dealt with weighing my options on what i would like to pursue (hence grad school); I have heard a bit of a rough idea of what a neuropsychologist is yet it seems like a relatively new field maybe? does anyone know how one pursues it? what internships too look for, favorite theories/books, etc.. The field looks interesting and I'm curious (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Teaching style and tips
I'm a new PGY2 and currently on a relatively chill elective service with 1-2 interns at a time. I really care about making strong interns/residents so I have been perusing the internet and podcasts (e.g. Curbsiders IM episode on PGY2 year) to learn how to guide interns through residency. I've just started but I try to help prime the interns to think about what questions to ask and what to look for during chart review before they see the patient, as well as go through a differential and run... OTCAS Experiences Question
Hi everyone! I'm currently working on my OTCAS application and wanted to ask if anyone could help me with classifying an experience in the "Experiences" section. I have been working as a rehab tech in an outpatient clinic for the past year and I am still currently working there. I'm not sure whether this would be classified under "Healthcare Experience", "Internships and Clinical Experiences", or simply "Employment". I'm paid for this position and spend the majority of my workdays helping... OTCAS Experiences Question (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Shot at getting into DPT school?
Hello I appreciate all of the feedback in advance. I currently am almost 29 years old and not happy with where I am at financially. I have always been interested in physical therapy. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with only a gpa of 3.144. At this point of my career I was interested in strength and conditioning and did internships at the University of Nebraska and a division II college where I did my undergrad. I then went into graduate school where I was a... Shot at getting into DPT school? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Residents and fellows: how is the relationship with neurosurgery residents at your program ?
I tried not to stereotype my neurosurgery colleagues, but as a new PGY-2 working alongside neurosurgery interns in the ICU, some boxes keep getting checked constantly. I have a great working relationship with Physicians and non physicians from every other dept but huh, I'm not enjoying working with them so far. What's it like at your programs? Anyone else work the ICU alone? Asking for a friend
Internal medicine resident here and I just have a question for anyone else who may rotate through ICU in their programs. Is it normal for an upper level with only 1 month of ICU experience as an intern to work an ICU alone (20 beds) with no fellows or in house staff. Our interns don't work overnight in the ICU so we do q4 24 ICU call as an upper level and you work alone at night. I'm scared of this because 1) I barely have experience in managing ICU patients 2) We cap and 20 and are often... Anyone else work the ICU alone? Asking for a friend (Source: Student Doctor Network)
