Efficacy evaluation of Mongolian medical warm acupuncture for sciatica caused by lumbar disc herniation: a randomized, controlled, single-blind clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: Mongolian medical warm acupuncture effectively relieves leg and waist pain and improves the total therapeutic effect and the quality of daily life for patients with sciatica caused by LDH, with significant long-term efficacy. Our study provides a basis for warm acupuncture in the treatment of sciatica caused by LDH. Damage-associated molecular patterns as a mechanism of sevoflurane-induced neuroinflammation in neonatal rodents
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, 6 h of sevoflurane exposure induces neuroinflammation through the DAMPs pathway, HMGB-1, and galectin-3. Co-administration of ibuprofen reduced sevoflurane-induced neuroinflammation.PMID:38556956 | DOI:10.4097/kja.23796 (Source: Korean Journal of Anesthesiology)

Physicochemical compatibility of caffeine citrate and caffeine base injections with parenteral medications used in neonatal intensive care settings
ConclusionsMost secondary test drugs, except aciclovir, amphotericin (liposomal), furosemide, hydrocortisone, ibuprofen and ibuprofen lysine, were physicochemically compatible with caffeine citrate injection. Caffeine base injection was physicochemically compatible with all 43 test drugs tested. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

Development of a simple paste for 3D printing of drug formulations containing a mesoporous material loaded with a poorly water-soluble drug
This study showcases the feasibility of a straightforward yet groundbreaking hybrid 3D printing system employing SSE to incorporate drug-loaded mesoporous magnesium carbonate (MMC) into two different drug formulations, each designed for distinct administration routes. MMC was loaded with the poorly water-soluble drug ibuprofen via a solvent evaporation method and mixed with PEG 400 as a binder and lubricant, facilitating subsequent SSE. The formulation is non-aqueous, unlike most pastes which are used for SSE, and thus is beneficial for the incorporation of poorly water-soluble drugs. The 3D printing process yielded tablet...
