Peds/Med Genetics
Anyone know anything about these programs? (Yale, UW, WU, Childrens National/NIH, UTHouston, Baylor, Mt Sinai, UCONN, CedarSinai). How many people match to these programs straight out of school? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Genetics Practice
Hi everyone! I've been struggling with genetics (specifically probably calculation when it's about passing a disease to an offspring), and I was wondering what tools you guys used to study genetics? Or where I could find practice problems! Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Updating with positive grades and omitting bad
So i have a situation and I'm really not sure how to handle it. I have two finals tomorrow both in Neuro and Genetics, Neuro is just a grade replacement final, worse case I get a B+ and in Genetics I am doing ok in the class, but without knowing where I am on the curve I could be anywhere from an A to B-. So I'm trying to optimize which one I should focus more on. Pretty sure I can get the B+ to an A in Neuro if I focus on that class more. I am assuming an A in the other 8 credit hours. I... D in Physic
So my current semester just end and grades are out...I got a D on physic 1, is medical school still viable? I was taking ochem2, human genetic and physic while working full time with two little ones. I spend countless of hours studying and practicing but for some reason I cannot comprehend physic. My semester end with Ochem:A, human genetic:A, physic ( I was 0.8% from C but the Professor refuse to give me a C, claiming it is unfair to other students). Any advise is welcome. Should I quit work to study for MCAT?
Good evening SDN fam, I am 23 years old, and I recently graduated and accepted a job as an Ophthalmic Technician. I have been working for 4 months now, and this job allows me plenty of patient care experiences and a good hourly salary. Now I have not started studying for the MCAT, but I am aiming on applying this cycle, 6-7 months from now. I have realized that working here full time and MCAT is not possible. My company only allows full time workers. I also desire to retake Genetics, a... Should I quit work to study for MCAT? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Not Enough Time for Lab
I recently began working in a molecular genetics lab. To my frustration, I'm moving very slowly because my full class schedule makes going to almost impossible--it's been over a month and I'm still practicing gels and not allowed to do any real work--a decision I agree with because I can't come in enough to get anything done! Next semester, I'm taking a slightly easier and freer schedule, so I should be able to come in more and I'm hoping to step up my involvement. I hear that 10-12... Genetics and Ecosystems w/ class average of A- and A for previous 2 semesters Cellular and Organ Physiology w/ B and B for previous 2 semester Is the latter course worth it for some MCAT content exposure? Helpfulness of online courses
Next semester I’ll be a post-bacc student going back to take my prerequisites for med school. From what I’ve heard, in addition to the required courses for med school, genetics, anatomy, physiology, and cell biology are really helpful for preparing for the MCAT. I’m considering taking some of these online since they require less prerequisites and I’ll actually have time to fit them into my schedule. Can anyone provide advice as to how useful these online courses are? What were he labs like?... Helpfulness of online courses (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PA vs MD, specific circumstances, money not an issue, etc
Hi, I had some questions regarding pa school vs med school that I was hoping to get some insight on from those who have more experience than I do, so I make the right decision and don't regret it in the future. Prereq wise for PA school I still need biochem, microbio, genetics, and Ochem lab (depending on the school), for med school I just need biochem and ochem lab. I also need to take the gre/mcat. I'm 23 and just graduated undergrad in May 2017, am currently taking ochem at a local... PA vs MD, specific circumstances, money not an issue, etc (Source: Student Doctor Network)
