Would you suggest to continuously review course material from anatomy, genetics, etc. to help lighten learning load in medical school?
This may be a dumb question, I’m sorry. I was just wondering if it would be beneficial to me to review courses, such as; anatomy, genetics, cell bio, physiology, biochemistry, etc. I have read about a lot of Medical Students who said that taking these classes helped them when they were having to learn it in medical school but because their memory faded a bit, it wasn’t as helpful as it could have been if they were able to recall more. Especially with anatomy because there is so much... Would you suggest to continuously review course material from anatomy, genetics, etc. to help lighten learning load in medical schoo...

Should I take Genetics before applying to dental school?
Hello, I am a Sophomore who is planning to apply in Junior year. How important is taking Genetics before dental school? It is not required by any of the dental schools but recommended to take by many of them. I have a lot of courses to complete since I changed my major last semester so I was wondering if I need to add it in my class layout for the next 3 years which is already bursting with classes. P.S. Also, what do you think about applying in Senior year? That means more time to prepare... Should I take Genetics before applying to dental school? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The MCAT: Where TF do I start?
Hi guys, I've been dealing with a lot lately, trying to get myself calmed down before college starts back up in a week (Senior I). I may take a few days just to compose myself before sprinting into worrying about yet another standardized test (which have been an nemesis of mine in the past). I'm having severe pre-mcat anxiety. I don't even know where to begin. My general chemistry courses and microbiology course will be this semester, which ends in December. My genetics and... The MCAT: Where TF do I start? Strengthening my app
As someone who needed to reinvent, I started my post-bacc at my local state college(what Fl calls community colleges now) with a 3.04 GPA approximately 1.5 years ago. I'll only have a few upper level sciences when applying. I'll be taking Biochem I and II at my state college, and I'm looking to take possibly genetics and micro at the closest university as I'll have a lighter course load to allow for a commute when I'm preparing for the MCAT. My goal is to apply next year. Is raising from a... Strengthening my app (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Mid-Late 20's, Tech Sector, 2.5 GPA, 523 MCAT
Hello, long-time grad hoping for advice on what to do next. Background I did extremely poorly in my undergraduate studies, but through sheer luck, managed to land a position at a large tech company. I was always interested in machine learning, and after 1.5 years, I got accepted into a ML focused team. From there, through a colleague's research, I became enamored by the intersection of ML and genetics. I decided that I wanted to further my education in genetics, and figured... Schools for Mol Bio + Genetics MD/PhD
Hello everyone, I am (re)building my school list for this year's app, and I am looking for medical schools with strong Mol Bio + Genetics graduate programs. I know about the big players (Stanford, Harvard, Baylor, JHU, Penn) and PIs in my specific field, but I am looking for programs that I may have missed to round out my list. Thank you! Advice on how to prepare/succeed in these courses?
Hey guys, I just finished a good summer term, and I'm starting my Fall semester in about a month. I was going to self-study a ton of chem foundations to be prepared, as I've never taken a chem class in my life; but apparently my uni is making me take a short course to cover the essentials beforehand, so that's off the table. Does anyone have any tips for these classes?: General chem 1 w/ lab Calc 1 Genetics Ecology Study tips, outside recourses, personal experiences, strategies... Limits Where to Apply?
Long story short, struggled freshman year as a pre-med trying to balance classes and D1 athletics while also missing 3 weeks of class due to Mono (C's in intro Bio I and II and Chem I and II). Rebounded well sophomore year and onward (besides C's in orgo) and ended my final undergrad semester with a 3.9. A's in Biochemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Neurobiology. B's in Cell Biology, Histology and Inorganic Chem. Will need to take/retake 2-4 classes in the next 1-2 years before I apply... Limits Where to Apply? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What do you think?
I'm trying to get in an MD program this application cycle. URM. cGPA- 3.39 sGPA- 3.2, retaking MCAT in August. Over 1000 hours in a clinic with direct patient care as a BH coordinator, 500+ hours shadowing a Dermatology FNP. Volunteer/Leadership 500+ hours, LOR from organic chem teacher, genetics teacher, and the FNP. LOR very strong (includes family death, father's loss of job, previous self-harm). If I score well enough on the MCAT do I have a shot? My top choice is Meharry Medical... What do you think? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Harvard HMX
Anybody have any opinions on the program? Basically, Harvard is offering online biochem, genetics, physiology, and immunology for a certificate of completion, geared towards those interested in medicine. It's $1800 for all 4 classes, and each class is 10 weeks long. There's various registration periods. They're saying this is the first year this has been open to the public, and beforehand it was for soon to matriculate med students. HMX |... Harvard HMX (Source: Student Doctor Network)
