Adivce needed
I graduated with B.S in Health Science with uGPA 2.96 and sGPA 2.86. I still have to take Genetics and Biochemistry. Due to the D/F policy I cannot take anymore science classes at my university but I can take genetics and biochemistry at different location of the university. I am also looking at the post-bacc and masters program that can help me get into Dental or medical school. I have struggled a lot during my B.S because I never had right guidelines and financial situation. I did... Adivce needed (Source: Student Doctor Network)

[Non-trad] 3.2/3.4 - Let me hear it
Hi All. I did poorly in my freshman/sophomore years (5-10 yrs ago) which has brought down my GPAs significantly. However, I did get As in classes like OChem and Genetics. Transferred partly due to laziness and immaturity, and finished my B.S. in public health. Tutored biostats and got great research experience. Went into psychosocial research and did 1 year of a PhD at a very good school before leaving and working in healthcare for 3 years, all the while completing a very relevant Masters... First quarter premed. Took cel bio and genetics. Need Advice!
Just started Cel bio and Genetics in UChicago in the winter quarter, and Genetics is way way way tougher than anticipated. It has been structured like a math course, and I am really struggling. The deadlines for dropping the course have passed, and my only option is Withdrawl. Should I withdraw? Or should I stick with it and maybe take genetics again at a later point if need be? This is my first pre-med quarter, and I really would love to get an A. Any and all advice is welcome. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pre- Dental school rant. I need advice.
Hey guys, so a year ago I took my DAT and didn’t do so great. (18AA, 19TS). I’m normally a really good student, and school was never really hard for me.. I majored in micro, immunology, and molecular genetics from UCLA and graduated this year with a 3.78..Ever since I walked out of that test center I had a phobia of taking tests. I was in utter shock. I remeber the ride back home my parents had to pull over so I could throw up.. I was so confused. I had never pereformed so poorly.. I had a... Pre- Dental school rant. I need advice. Is a double major worth all the extra time and energy?
I'm a senior in high school, and this fall I'll be attending Purdue West Lafayette as a biochemistry major. However, I'm also very interested in genetics and am thinking about double majoring. But, I know biochemistry has a very heavy and hard course load, as does genetics. Is it worth the extra time, energy, and stress to major in genetics along with my biochem major? And please only post helpful responses. I have neither a need nor a desire for deconstructive criticism. P.S. I don't know... Is a double major worth all the extra time and energy? What would you do?
Graduated in 2012 with an Exercise Science degree with the plan of pursuing Physical Therapy. I worked as an aide for about 3 years and decided that I wanted to go to medical school instead. I have taken most pre-reqs required except for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. I also have not taken Genetics or Cell Biology, though not required, I have heard is helpful on the MCAT. 3.47 cGPA, 3.32 sGPA. No research. What, in your opinion, is the best option to place myself on the path to medical... What would you do? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Scared of labs in undergrad
I'm gonna take a Genetics lab this semester but reading the manual makes me scared. There are a lot of things to remember and we're dealing with flies and worms, and it's easy to kill or let them loose on accident, which would result in failure. I've always had a hate of labs because I'm always afraid of messing up. "Failure is part of it!" Yes, but failure in my lab experiences often led to failing grades. I haven't failed a lab course, but I have failed individual labs because of mistakes... Scared of labs in undergrad (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Genetics as a prerequisite for MD school?
Just wondering if any of you have seen Genetics as a prerequisite for MD schools? I did some research and it looks like it depends on the school so would it be a good idea to take it anyway? I don't have to decide this now, as I will probably be taking Genetics next Fall. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
