Applying Early & Confused with Covid
Hi, so I am a math major and CS minor on the pre-med track and I am currently planning on graduating in three years. My plan right now is to self study for the MCAT (which I am doing) and also finish taking all my pre-med courses except Cell Bio and Genetics by the end of my second year. I thought I had everything together, but then Covid hit and I wasn't able to follow through with all the opportunities I had planned. (by which I mean like shadowing/clinical stuff I had set up for the... Applying Early & Confused with Covid (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Some Guidance would be appreciated.
So halfway through nursing school I realized that I wanted to be a doctor instead. I am now entering my junior year of college, and I have done my own digging on how to get into med school, as there are no pre-med advisers at my college. Some of my credits are from a community college, and I wont have all the usual prerequisites that most med schools require once I graduate. So here's my plan/thought process: complete a health science minor that will give me some classes such as genetics and... Some Guidance would be appreciated. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is A Post-Bacc Program worth it for me?
Hey guys, I am in a bit of a dilemma here. As an undergrad student I have taken about 112 science credits (that's including retaking the same courses) and my science GPA is around a 2.9. I recently got accepted into a post-bacc program that will enhance my GPA. However, the number of credits they are offering is roughly 13 (4 Immuno/micro, 4 Genetics, 4 Biochem, 1 Problem Solving.) I just calculated my "updated" science GPA if I were to get all As in each class in the program, and my new... Is A Post-Bacc Program worth it for me? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post-Bacc AND Masters All in One? Do they exist?
I will be attending a one year masters program in the fall that will award an M.S. in Medical Genetics & Genomics. It is an SMP program that I thought up until now was exclusively a masters program. However, in the description it mentions how it is a post-bacc as well. I emailed an adcom, and she said that it depends on the school how they interpret GPA (continuation of bachelor, or stand-alone masters GPA). My question is, are there such a thing as a post-bacc mixed with a masters? What... Post-Bacc AND Masters All in One? Do they exist? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I take upper div. genetics, or another biochem course?
I'm looking for stuff to take next academic year, and my current finances and lack of work during COVID-19 means that I need to choose between an upper division genetics course, or an additional biochem course (metabolism). I've completed a year of general bio, and the genetics included in that sequence. I'm on a career change/GPA repair track if that means anything, and taken about 30 units worth of prerequisites so far; I've gotten an A in all classes so far. Which class do you think... NBME 21: 170, NBME 16: 182, UWSA: 183, three weeks left until USMLE, help!
Hey - I'm currently half way through UWorld, have been working on my content gaps, but even so, Immunology/Genetics/Biochemistry are still some of my weakest areas. I'm a DO student and at this point, I don't know if it's worth taking USMLE and if I should just focus on COMLEX. Other than getting through all of UWorld before my test date, any other tips, pointers, words of inspiration, prayers? I'm at a hump and I need to figure out what to do to get over it. Which upper-level science course?
Re-applying MD/DO this year and wanting to take an extra course via my state university's health professional's extension program, starting June. Options are genetics, immunology, or physiology. Can only take one because of time and $$$. What do folks think? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

My premed advisor is actively trying to sabotage me
Ok so originally I was very interested in becoming a physical therapist and owning my own practice so my undergraduate courses were chosen for that goal. I was still a bio major but I took courses such as kinesiology, exercise physiology, etc, instead of upper level science courses like molecular genetics. After observation hours and great contemplation about physical therapy, I decided late that it wasn't worth it for me, with the biggest factor being the debt to income ratio. I always... Organic Chem Class, Genetics, Bio statistics, and Sociology in One semester (15 credits)... Will this be Hard?
This semester I have to take Organic Chem with the lab, Bio statistics I, Genetics, and Sociology for 15 credits. I've already taken all of my easier courses so now all I'm left with are harder science courses. Do you guys think this will be manageable? And then next semester I would have to take Animal Phys, biochemistry, Intro to Methods in Biotechnology, Physics with lab and philosophy of science (also 15 credits). Should I move anything around or should this schedule be fine. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Screwed up freshman year
I got a 1.955 gpa first semester and will be getting around a 3.0-3.15 this semester with an overall that should be between a 2.65-2.7 or higher once after I take my two summer courses (genetics and gen chem 2). my first semester grades were horrendous bc i was focused on someone I liked and they used me and I just screwed up by doing their work. I started seeing the dean and resources about 1/3 into second semester and it helped me a lot. I know how to make schedules and study now but I... WAMC - Non-traditional applicant: 2020-2021 cycle
cGPA: 3.73 I'm not sure exactly how it will all calculate since I transferred and took some CC classes during high school/summer, plus a few online classes during break/after graduating, but I did a quick estimate and it seems to shake out to 3.73-3.74. sGPA: 3.6? This is strictly chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, physics, math, statistics, biochem, and cell & molecular bio -- not sure if I should include things like genetics, metabolic nutrition, kinesiology...
