After completion of an undergraduate degree, is it possible to take classes such as Biochemistry just to fulfill medical school requirements?
Is it possible to take required classes like Biochemistry even after graduation and still count when you apply to medical schools? I'm also an international student, but I'd want to pursue a Master's in the US first in my field before I apply to medical school, so I'm thinking of postponing Biochem, Genetics until I have graduated. Subjects to take for MCAT?
Aside from the general prereqs that med school require, what other subjects would be beneficial for the MCAT? I read mixed reviews about microbio, genetics, and cell bio. I have taken the following: BIO 1 and 2, Gen Chem 1 and 2, and currently finishing of Physics, OChem, and Biochem. Would there be any other subjects beneficial for the MCAT? Or would self-studying using the MCAT prep books be sufficient for the other courses? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

English Requirements?
Hi all, So most DO schools state something like 6 hours of English at the college level is required. I have already taken an english course for 3 hours but by the time I graduate I will have taken over 40 hours of history credits, nearly all with substantive writing portions including 3 writing intensive seminars and a writing intensive Genetics lab. If I were to apply with only 3 hours of just plain "English" in spite of these courses, would this warrant an R? I apologize if this is a... English Requirements? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Which zanki subjects are overkill/not worth finishing?
We did our foundations courses last semester (biochem/molecular genetics/histo/biostats/etc) and recently switched to systems based Physiol this semester. I noticed a huge change in how effective zanki is and Im not sure if its because the biochem deck is very dense or if this block (cardio) just aligns more with bnb+costanzo. I try to do all of my reviews for all fo the decks and chip away at biochem but it seems to be a big task and I have heard that it may be too dense for what we need. I... Tech applications in Psychiatry?
Accepted Premed here. Have always been interested in applications of technology and medicine, so naturally, stuff like Rads, Path, and clinical genetics seem like really fun specialties to shadow now and explore further in med school. However, I had an psychiatrist interviewer tell me about her applications of brain mapping imaging and addiction, which made me instantly gain a lot of interest in the field. How likely/possible is it to integrate tech into psychiatry practice and what... Tech applications in Psychiatry? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Would appealing this grade be worth the trouble?
Just finished kinda senior year, kinda post-bacc (was finishing up a minor & taking extra classes). I ended with a 3.95: Microbiology= A Genetics= A Sociology= A Biomechanics= A Biochemistry= A- four year breakdown and postbacc is (3.4/3.3/3.85/3.88/3.95) with increasing credit load every year. In Biochemistry there was an error the professor made in grading an exam. When confronted she said it "would not make a difference" which ended up giving me a 92.76% in the class instead of a... Help with class choice for upward trend and future success.
I have taken introductory biology I and II and because of my poor ethic as a freshman, got a B in both. I have since improved and received an A in biochem I and will shoot for an A next semester in biochem II. Should I consider taking Molecular and Cell Bio I and II to bolster my application(and improve my biology understanding). I am already taking Genetics and will take Microbio and A&P I as well. Or should I focus on higher level electives such as histology, immunology, etc? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Genetics (lecture only) vs. Genetics (lecture & lab) in the 8-week summer session
Because I need to plan financially, I end up needing to make course plans well in advance so I know how many credits worth of tuition money I will need at a certain time. My school offers most all of its upper level Bio classes as separate lectures and labs. Genetics lecture is worth three credits and Genetics lab is worth another three credits. They may be taken concurrently or the lecture a semester or two before the lab. Do you think it would be too much to take Genetics along with...
