Text mining of hypertension researches in the west Asia region: a  12-year trend analysis
Ren Fail. 2024 Dec;46(1):2337285. doi: 10.1080/0886022X.2024.2337285. Epub 2024 Apr 14.ABSTRACTMore than half of the world population lives in Asia and hypertension (HTN) is the most prevalent risk factor found in Asia. There are numerous articles published about HTN in Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) and artificial intelligence (AI) methods can analyze articles and extract top trends in each country. Present analysis uses Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) as an algorithm of topic modeling (TM) in text mining, to obtain subjective topic-word distribution from the 2790 studies over the EMRO. The period of checked studie...

Investigating the level of vitamin D receptor gene expression in two tumoral and healthy breast tissues in breast cancer patients and its association with prognostic factors
CONCLUSIONS: The expression level of VDR in healthy tissue was significantly higher than tumoral tissue. However, there was no significant relationship between VDR and tumor grade, HER2, ER, PR, LVI, LN, disease stage, age, and tumor size.PMID:38616231 | DOI:10.1186/s43046-024-00215-5 (Source: J Egypt Natl Canc In...)

Evaluation of apparently healthy Egyptian infants and toddlers on the bayley-III scales according to age and sex
Child development is shaped throughout the first years of life through the interaction of genetics and the environment. Bayley-III is valuably used to determine early developmental delay (DD). The aim of this ... (Source: Italian Journal of Pediatrics)

Evaluation of apparently healthy Egyptian infants and toddlers on the bayley-III scales according to age and sex
ConclusionThe study indicates that the performance of apparently healthy Egyptian children on the Bayley III evaluation differs in relation to age and sex. The most vulnerable age group at potential risk of DD was children aged 24 –30 months. Efforts must be directed to investigate the nutritional, physical, psychological and safety needs of this group. Attention must be paid to early childhood intervention programs that stimulate development, especially language development, and they must be tailored on the basis of age an d gender. Gender-specific norms may be needed in the evaluation of language development. (Source: ...

Bilateral adrenal neuroblastoma: peculiar pattern of a rare pediatric presentation
ConclusionBSN treatment is similar to unilateral disease. A more conservative surgical approach with adrenal tissue preservation on less extensive side should be considered. Biological variables and extent of disease are amongst the most important prognostic determinants. Future studies are warranted to further address the biologic profiling of BSN and highlight prognostic significance of size difference between both adrenal sides. (Source: Hormones and Cancer)

The Neurourology Journey: From Pads to Jack Lapides and Intermittent Catheterization to Multidisciplinary Management
This issue of Urologic Clinics of North America, edited by John T. Stoffel, represents the culmination of centuries of study of voiding dysfunction —its causes and treatments. Descriptions of urinary incontinence from spinal cord injury can be found as early as the second millennium bc in Egyptian manuscripts.1,2 Claudius Galen (129–201 ad) is credited as being the first to perform physiologic experiments on the lower-urinary tract, and he concluded that micturition is achieved by contraction of the abdominal muscles. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis in Egyptian children: diagnosis, treatment challenges and outcome
CONCLUSIONS: This study confirms that the nonspecific signsand symptoms of HLH arechallenging. Genetic testing, though expensive and sophisticated, is integralfor the diagnosis. The difficulty in finding non-related donors for stem celltransplantation and the early reactivations are the causes of the inferioroutcome.PMID:38597207 | DOI:10.1080/17474086.2024.2341044 (Source: Expert Review of Hematology)

Relationship Between Alexithymia, Smartphone Addiction, and Psychological Distress Among University Students: A Multi-country Study
This study aims to determine the rates of alexithymia and its relationship with smartphone addiction and psychological distress in university students.METHODS: A total of 2616 students (mean age = 22.5±3.5 years; 73.1% female) from universities in Egypt, Oman, and Pakistan were included in a cross-sectional and comparative study conducted through a web survey during the COVID-19 pandemic from October to December 2021. The following scales were used: Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21), and Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV). The survey also included questions relate...
