Face mask during virtual interview
Hi everyone! I have an interview this Friday, and it is through Zoom. I cannot do the interview in my house since it will be too noisy/distracting. I reserved a study room in the library, but with the COVID restrictions I will have to wear a mask indoors even though I am vaccinated. Could this potentially be a negative against me? A little light reading...

Question for the pharmacist
Hello All, I’ve recently applied for a job that has asked that I sign over permission to my prescription history on a nys prescription database. I’m curious, would this particularly employer be able to see that I’m prescribed blood pressure medication? Is there a database of any kind for non controlled prescriptions? Where to donate medical school textbook?
Hi all. Looking to see if you all have any recommendations on where I can donate a medical school textbook. It’s a histology textbook that I got before first year and I really don't use it. Rather than have it sitting on my desk accumulating dust, I want to donate it to a place that will actually benefit from it (not just give it to Goodwill or something like that). I did some Google searching already and AMSA’s list and their recommended company called Global Medical Libraries. But I wanted... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Retake DAT or apply early?
Hi everyone! I'm starting to think about reapplying and wanted to know if I should retake the DAT or just apply the first day the cycle opens with my current scores? I was lucky enough to get 3 interview invites this cycle even though my DAT verified in Oct, so i wanted to know if i should just apply earlier this upcoming cycle? I'm not sure if i retake the DAT i can score better, i dont have a good environment to study in and with covid the libraries are closed, i made the mistake of... Databases for clinical experiences
Hi all, this is my first post on SDN and I wanted to ask if anybody knew databases for clinical experiences? I have been fortunate enough to find a plethora of non-clinical volunteering experiences through AmeriCorps, even in the pandemic, but I'm struggling to find quality clinical experiences. I'm trying Teleshadowing out, but it feels much more like a lecture than shadowing. Also I was curious about trying out working as a crisis center volunteer, but my older sister didn't feel like it... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How do you deal with burnout?
In undergrad and when i first started med school, i could sit in the library all day and study. Now i dread it. I sit down with a cup of coffee, ready to go, but as soon as i start, i just don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t feel tired or anything but i just don’t want to do it. I’m sure covid has impacted me on a psychological level but i don’t know how to get over this rut i’m in. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How much did your school get in Covid relief funding?
Search to find how much funding your college or university will receive in the new round of COVID-19 funding This searchable database shows how much public, private nonprofit and for-profit institutions are set to receive, as well as how much of that money must go to financial aid grants for students. www.insidehighered.com This had relevance to MDs too, but since they have undergrads etc, it’s kind of harder to see how much they’re getting screwed compared to us. Enjoy! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How Important that a Pub has to be PubMed Indexed?
Heard this yesterday from a friend that physicians/ PDs only care about pubmed indexed publications. I have a few publications that are not indexed in PubMed. But these journals are not predatory because 1. I didn't pay, 2. there is a peer-review process, 3. they are indexed in other major databases even like the science citation index under WOS (the one that publishes impact factors which many PubMed journals can't even make it there). So my question is if this is true that when we apply to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
