Vox ER Bill Project
I don't think this has been mentioned previously, but Vox has started a project on "ER prices." A lot is predictable, but what is interesting is that hey are collecting actual patient bills for a comprehensive database. Hospitals keep ER fees secret. We’re uncovering them. Taking a 2 week trip 2 weeks before the MCAT? Bad idea?
If I'm planning to take the MCAT 8/10, do you think it's awful to take a 2.5 week trip from 7/10-7/27? It's not a vacation per se (I will be accompanying my SO for work in a resort town) so I will have plenty of free time to study, but I don't know if I'll be able to study quite as much as if I just stayed at home. I went last summer and there are tons of coffee shops, a beautiful library, and lots of nature, so it would be a very relaxing time. It is in the mountains though so the first ~3... Anyone out there with SEER database research experience?
I'm trying to get started on a research project using the SEER database. I've used SAS in the past, so that's the analytical software I've decided I'll try out. The only problem is I don't know how to export the SEER data into SAS and use it. If there's anyone out there who has any experience with such, please help a fellow student out! If you know of any other analytical software that's usable, and you know how to get started with SEER data, I'd love to hear about it. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anyone have a copy of the retracted PRO article by UF and Duke program directors about ABR exam?
The article was released, and then when we requested our librarians obtain it thru interlibrary loan, they told us it had been retracted. Sure enough: http://www.practicalradonc.org/article/S1879-8500(18)30080-8/fulltext (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is there a MSAR-Equivalent for DO schools?
I have been googling around and cannot find a solid database on DO schools and what each requirement is. I understand that I could go to each school's website and search through the information, but is there any database that is like the MSAR? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Undergrad thesis count as publication?
So this is kind of a question that won't matter much for another few years, but I'm curious so might as well ask now. I'm an honors student and have written an honors thesis as part of my graduation requirements. It is going to be "published" by my school, with a copy kept in the library and whatever. I am going to be giving an oral presentation on it at my school's annual research symposium. Does this count as research and/or a publication when it comes to one day applying for residency?...
