Medical Marijuana
Just saw "medical marijuana" show up on the controlled substance database report with pharmacies for a patient. First time seen that. This one was prescribed by an EM physician. How much of my work experience can I reasonably label as research?
I’m a non-trad who has been working in healthcare since 2016 (similar to a nuclear medicine tech). About a year ago, I decided to go the premed route and received tons of support from my physicist and physician colleagues. The specialty I work in is very research heavy, so I was given the opportunity to work on many different (related) projects. This has mainly included data entry into a database that I design and maintain, image registration, consenting patients for research, and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

SHSU-COM vs NYIT-COM
Hello, I have been accepted to both medical schools and I could really use the help in deciding which one to attend. New York Institute of Technology (NYITCOM-AR) * Pass/Fail * Relationship with ASU Jonesboro campus and their facilities (nice gym, library etc.) * Connection to the well-established NYITCOM (NY) program. Supposedly one school, two campuses. * non-mandatory attendance * Lectures are prerecorded * Has been around for four years longer Cons: * 64,000$ tuition and fees * 7.5... Legally Change My Name
Hi! This is my first post here and it's a bit of an oddball question. I'm the son of immigrants who wasn't given a legal middle name at birth. I was also recently accepted into a program (which I am beyond stoked about!) and was hoping to legally give myself a middle name before matriculation; I was told it would be more difficult to do so after medical school and I just want to get it out of the way. Would this have any impact on my acceptance? I'm just afraid that my name in their database... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Finally, A Book Written with You in Mind.
I know. You've got classes. Perhaps during your limited free time, you want to read something with a veterinary theme. I get it. I was there once. A librarian will send you to the 636 shelf of the dozen or so veterinary memoirs like James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small. Otherwise, in fiction, it's the children's section for Dr. Dolittle or as a secondary love interest in romance. Well, now there is something specifically written for you. The Vet's Apprentice What... Sealed Record
Hi all! Do any of y'all know if Medical Schools can see a sealed charge on my record? It's nonviolent, non drug related and happened when I was 18, many many years ago. It's sealed but I wasn't sure if their database of background checks can see it. I do know they ask about any charges anyways and I do know that the hospitals can see my record, but it'll be in the process of a Governor's Pardon by then and in my state I can apply for a healthcare waiver that allows someone with a record to...
