Took an MCAT gamble and it paid; should I apply this upcoming cycle?
Hello, I began studying for the MCAT around the end of December with the goal of a May or June test date. Many called me crazy cause I had not finished the GenChem series or Bio series - I only completed the Physics series (this is true now). Less than a week ago, I got my scores released and I scored a 519. This score did not surprise me a great deal because I had been scoring 514s on much harder third party tests and had similar scores on the AAMC FLs. I'm delighted but face a problem... Is a "O" symbol on academic record a red flag?
My primary was just verified yesterday but I had a quick question. I had a class that was listed as Incomplete on my transcript but the professor later gave me an A+. (PI forgot to submit grades). I put it in my AMCAS shown below but AAMC put a “O” mark on it. Should I just leave it like this since it doesn’t affect my GPA or should I ask for a correction? Below is what it looks like on my AMCAS and on my transcript. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Took the AAMC sample test: looking for approximate score & advice (2 months left until test date)
I took the AAMC sample test (unscored) and here are my subsection scorings. C/P 63% 37/59 CARS 85% 45/53 B/B 73% 43/59 P/S 75% 44/59 Thoughts: C/P Overall felt like for C/P I had quite a few content gaps & I usually do better on C/P questions. CARS Heard unscored CARS is a lot easier than rest of AAMC FLs so not sure how accurate this is. B/B Felt okay. P/S Again, just have some content gaps. I already did 1/2 rounds of content review with the kaplan books and minimal supplementary... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Restraining Order and Admissions
I’ve been lucky enough to have an acceptance and I’m excited to start medical school in August. I had a clean record while applying and when my school conducted the AAMC background check in January. However, since then I have been served with a petition for a domestic violence restraining order from my ex-girlfriend. I am currently fighting this and have retained an attorney as the allegations are false but I know that the temporary RO is in law enforcement database. The hospital... AAMC president on diversity
Just curious to see what you think. Does he make a strong case for AA? For those interested, you can also look at an article on AA that came out in jama this past march (?) Washington, D.C., April 29, 2003 - Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) President Jordan J. Cohen, M.D., issued the following statement at today's Health Care Access Rally on Capitol Hill: "On behalf of the Association of American Medical Colleges, whose primary mission is the health of the nation... Please help
So I was scheduled to take my MCAT 6/29. My BP FL was 497, which isn’t good but I thought I could at least bring it up to a 500. So I took AAMC FL1 and got a 488. I’m devastated. I know the issue is content review but I just don’t know where to begin. I was reading the Kaplan books but I kept forgetting the material. I’m thinking about pushing it back to an august test date but I was hoping to apply this cycle. Should I submit a primary or wait until I get my MCAT score back? All advice is... Should I write the Other Impactful Experiences essay?
Sorry to belabor an old question. I have read the relevant threads and AAMC materials but I am still a bit confused. I would much appreciate input from current or former adcom members, thank you. In short, my family has always lived below the poverty line. We had free school lunch, SNAP, and other gov't assistance. I saw shootings outside my window. I also worked with my dad in construction starting at age 12, full-time in the summers. (Yes, 12 years old; he was an independent contractor... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AAMC Preview Question
If a medical school states preview as "highly recommended" for their holistic process but application would be considered complete without a preview score, does this mean I am at a disadvantage for not doing preview? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Are JW passages for B/B CP... etc representative of the actual exam?
Basically just the title. I tried doing a few of the questions (like 20) and did some of the AAMC section bank and I feel they are nothing alike in terms of difficulty and logic. People that have actually taken the MCAT, are JW passages good for all the non CARS sections? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Retaking MCAT and application cycle timeline.
Hi All, I was wondering if someone can help answer a few questions I've been having. I took the MCAT a year ago and had a substantial drop from my AAMC FL scores, so I'm currently in the process of retaking. I would like to retake in late June/early July maybe. How should I go about applying? Do I still apply June 1st with my current score, and update schools later on, or should I apply later after I take the MCAT again? What would be more advisable and how will schools see this? My... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Retaking the AAMC Preview Test? Also do I need to retake the CASPER?
Hello, sorry if this question was asked before, but I was wondering if there is any merit in retaking a prereview test from 6/8/21 as I am planning on applying for the 2024 cycle. Also was wondering if I need to retake the casper since I took it in 2021 The percentile rank effective date is 5/1/22 and I have scored a 6, placing me in 78%. Just some stats: 1. 3.6 cGPA, 3.8 sGPA, 4.0 post bacc gpa, strong upward curve. 2. 511 total MCAT, 127 CHEM, 127 CARS, 128 BIO, 129 PSYCH 3. CA native... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
