Testing 4/23 Advice
Hello, I averaged a 506 on 4 NS Fl exams. I just took the first AAMC FL 1, 20 days out from test day, and scored a 508 C/P 127, CARS 125, B/B 126, and P/S 130. I heard that the cars was particularly hard on AAMC Fl 1, so hopefully that will improve. I have finished all the qpacks (except for CARS), half the official guide questions, and still have not touched the section banks. My goal score is 510+, is it reasonable to see further improvement or should I be thinking about pushing... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MCAT May 20 - Advice NEEDED!
I appreciate your time and tips, Briefly - I am a non-traditional pre-med and graduated with a bachelors in respiratory therapy in 2019. I have since been working weekends as a respiratory therapist. It has been several years since I have taken any of the prerequisites other than chemistry and organic, which I just took last fall. Due to several factors, I only have this short time between now and May 20 to get ready. I decided to take AAMC FL1 to determine where I stand, and my scores... CYMS Clarification
I am a bit confused on the CYMS policy. As someone holding multiple MD acceptances, I want to make sure that I have received my full financial aid package from each medical school before committing so I can make a fully informed decision. However, I am confused on which rules are hard requirements and which are suggestions. Is the 3 A's by 4/15 rule a solid requirement? Same question about the 1 A by 4/30 rule. I thought these were both mandatory rules enforced by the AAMC, but now I am not... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does autism count as a "disability?"
Maybe this would be a better fit for Confidential Consult. Mods, please redirect this thread if there is a better place for it, but I'm not asking for myself or for a friend; just out of genuine curiosity. The AAMC's "reasonable accomodations" clause details very specific guidelines which qualify someone as "disabled" and therefore outside the realm of reasonable accomodations. In other words, there are very specific standards that students must meet in order to be able to auscultate... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

FAP Violation, will I be blacklisted?
I know I made a horrible mistake but I need advice moving forward. In the fall, I made an AAMC account to fill out the FAP form. I rushed through the form because I needed to get it in before a deadline and I was being stupid and gave them rounded numbers instead of looking at the appropriate forms. I was denied FAP and but I knew I qualified because I am extremely low income. I couldn't redo the FAP form on the same account so, I made another AAMC account to fill out the FAP form correctly... 3rd Party Materials during last 4 weeks of studying?
I'll be completing a review course 1 month before my actual test date. I have saved all the AAMC materials to do for these last 4 weeks. I plan to do all the section banks and q-packs during the week, and then 1 full length each Saturday (then review on Sunday). My question though- should I supplement this with additional 3rd party materials? Since I've taken a review course, I have a lot of additional passages leftover from their materials that I could practice with. Is it worth throwing... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

email fellowship programs if participating in ERAS??
AAMC/ERAS mention multiple times that an applicant should contact ALL programs to make sure they are participating in ERAS for the application year. Does anyone actually do this??? If the fellowship program website says requirements include "ERAS application"... that means they are participating in ERAS, no? And will programs really be forthcoming if you ask whether they are taking an in-house applicant? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

altius vs blue print exams?
Hello! I'm planning on purchasing 3rd party practice exams from either Altius or BluePrint. Any recommendations as to which one I should use? Is one more representative of the actual AAMC than the other, does one have better explanations? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anywhere I can see AAMC flashcard questions for free?
Hello I was wondering if anybody had access to the AAMC flashcard questions that I could look at for free? Please, I don't want to hear a lecture about how I'm stealing money from AAMC. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

FL 3 Score Dropped...happen to anyone else?
Hello! I'm feeling a bit discouraged. I scored a 509 on my first three AAMC FLs with no improvement. I just took FL3 and got a 506. Has this drop happened to anyone else? My exam is in two weeks and now I am a bit bummed. My goal score is at least a 510 or higher. Do you mind providing any tips or your FL scores so I can compare? Thanks. Magoosh + Uworld
To anyone who’s used Magoosh: I’ve heard that it covers the core essential topics for the MCAT. Do you think UWorld and the AAMC Qbank would be enough to fill in the content gaps? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Resources to Improve CARS? Already finished AAMC material
Hello! I was wondering what other resources I could use to improve CARS? My exam is in two weeks and I already finished all of the AAMC material for this year. Score not changing at all (literally)...any help? Test in two weeks.
Hello! I'm not sure what to do. My test is in a little over two weeks. I've taken three out of the five AAMC practice tests and have literally gotten a 509 on every...single...one. I've left room in between, figured out what I did wrong, improved my test-taking skills (or so I thought). When I retook my first two exams a month after I originally took them, I obviously forgot what the questions were and scored really high (517-519). Now, I'm assuming I definitely had a bit of help from my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
