Mcat on hold
My August 14 MCAT score was not released to me and is on hold pending a testing center concern investigation. Does anyone know if AAMC actually takes the full 30 days to “investigate?” I tried reaching out and they don’t even give updates or anything. Does anyone also know if I will be informed of a score? The impending medical education discrepancies aggravated by Covid19 pandemic
Medical school enrollments grow, but residency slots haven’t kept pace The AAMC’s annual survey shows student body growth won’t alleviate physician shortage unless residency and clinical training site shortfalls also are addressed. www.aamc.org (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Receiving MCAT score in October, is that too late?
So I've already applied to a few schools and received secondaries. Currently scheduled to take the MCAT on 9/12, but considering pushing back to 9/27 to get more practice in. Scored a 502 on AAMC FL 1, but was 1 or 2 questions in each section away from a 506 (6 total questions). Is 9/27 too late since the score comes out 10/13? I would probably just go ahead and submit to my other schools in the meantime and then immediately work on secondaries as they roll in after my MCAT. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MD 2020-2021 Odds / Opinions / Advice
Hi all, I got my MCAT score recently and it was a 508 (130/123/129/126) which was lower than my AAMC FLs (lowest being 512). Obviously, the CARS score is not the best, but I wanted advice to see what I should expect this year. Here are my ECs for those who are interested: Year in school: Senior - UC School Country/state of residence: USA, CA Cumulative GPA: 3.92 Science GPA: 3.94 Research – 400 hours total, one (last-author) publication and one senior... Really low MCAT score??
So I just started studying for the MCAT on Monday and decided I wanted to take an AAMC FL practice test before studying just to see where I was at. I knew I wasn't going to score high because 1. I had an extremely difficult time with both my physics classes & need to basically start from scratch 2. Didn't get much out of my cell bio class (professor was absent most of the time & didnt really teach when they were in class) and 3. I haven't taken biochemistry yet (just started). Regardless, I... Question about Questions
Hey SDN, I've seen a few people on here, r/MCAT, and r/Premed say or insinuate that the AAMC Section Banks are better than the AAMC Qpacks. Why is this the general consensus? If so, is uWORLD better than AAMC Qpacks? or Are the Qpacks pretty low-yield all around? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I would really appreciate advice regarding an AAMC Investigation details in post
In early August I applied for FAP and at the time was in the process of filling out secondaries finishing my summer 2 classes etc etc. I apparently filled out on the form that I had no living parents which is untrue. I had everywhere else on every other form my mother (who is my only living relative) marked as alive and her information. At the time I read the question as do you live with your parents and or do you have any parental income to report. I marked know for them and moved on. I... Should I take the MCAT?
Hey all! I have been averaging 505 on TPR MCAT tests and 511 on the AAMC full lengths. I really am aiming for that 518. Should I just take the MCAT in September to have a score in hand and then take it again in January or shoot straight for the Jan date? My worry is that if I choke in Jan, I won't have a solid second attempt (I aim to apply in the 2021 cycle). Alternatively, I would be sacrificing studying as much for my midterms which are around the MCAT date. I haven't booked anything yet... Should I take the MCAT? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Actual MCAT Score is significantly lower then AAMC FL Tests
Hey guys, Looking for some advice and or suggestions on what I should do/has this ever happened to you or anyone you know? About 2-3 weeks before I took my official MCAT I took the AAMC official Practice tests (in this order) and got the following scores: FL# 3 502 FL# 1 506 FL# 2 506 FL# 4 504 (other then FL#1 this was my first time taking the practice exams and I did my best to simulate "real" testing conditions.) I felt confident in my ability to get somewhere in the 500+ range. I was... Actual MCAT Score is significantly lower then AAMC FL Tests (Source: Student Doctor Network)

C.O. 2023 what to do with step? Unranked med school interested in competitive specialty
Sorry to make another post about this but am hoping to hear from people on residency admissions boards or who have heard directly from them. What is the wisdom for someone who may be allowed to choose between P/F and getting a score? I know scores wont be retroactively blinded according to the AAMC but does that mean residency programs won't/can't blind them themselves? I was planning on taking a gap year in the case I got a stellar score and could qualify for Plastics/derm especially... C.O. 2023 what to do with step? New MCAT score/Help with School List
Hi everyone! I would really appreciate any help/advice. My MCAT score came out on 8/18, and I got a 508. This was my first MCAT. My practice AAMC FLs were 510/506/510/516. I even took the 4th FL, on which I got a 516, a week before my exam I was hoping for a 510-515. MSAR shows a 508 barely cutting the 10th percentile for many schools. I'm now panicking/contemplating if I should retake the MCAT on 9/28 (last accepted MCAT date for most schools). Would give me around 5 weeks to study, but... Postbacc Database
Does anyone know of any databases that break down all of the MD postbaccs? Or does anybody have one? The AAMC website is only slightly useful due to its list format. I think a spreadsheet would be much better and have been creating one myself. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What should I do
Hello, I'm currently a rising senior with a cGPA of 3.26 (not sure what my sGPA is). I have calculated my predicted cGPA and sGPA after graduating using the AAMC calculator, and my cGPA was 3.47 and sGPA was 3.28. I'm currently studying part time for the MCAT and plan to take it in early June of 2021. I guess at this point, I'm not sure if I should be considering a post-bacc program or a DIY post-bacc, mainly due to my GPA. I understand that my MCAT score does play a big role in making that...
