MCAT Retake Advice
I am a non-trad applicant. I applied last cycle, took the MCAT and got a 508(125/126/129/128). I retook the MCAT on June 4th and just got my score back. I, unfortunately, got another 508 (125/128/128/127). This surprised me as I did a lot different this time and my average on the AAMC FLs was a 514. I was also averaging around a 128 in C/P. I have a pretty strong application otherwise. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.46 with a science GPA of 3.46 and a post-bacc GPA of 3.93. I have around 4000... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Very unsure if I should retake MCAT
Hello everybody, my story is that I took my MCAT a few months ago and I didn't feel that bad about my test, but when I got my score back i was shocked. I got a 506, my 4 AAMC FL avg was a 512 and my 3rd party avg was a 510 (I started 3rd parties earlier so the avg was lower) so I thought I was going to get a score around there, but I didn't. My question is that if I schedule for a July 22nd retake would I be too late for the application cycle and would it even be worth it? I feel like if I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Low MCAT - when should I retake
I took the MCAT May 28 after studying for three months using the Princeton Review. I took seven practice tests (including a few AAMC) and scored 498, 505, 509, 512, 515, 517 and 518. I got a 499 on the actual MCAT. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I don't know what happened... maybe I was overly confident? Nervous? Maybe I rushed and made careless errors? I just don't know. I felt good about the test and was just so shocked with my score. My question is: should I try and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transcript Issue
I am applying through AMCAS this cycle. In the summer of 2015, I took a pre-college (no credit) summer course at Brown. I wasn't sure how to mark this on my application, so I called AAMC and was told to request a transcript exception because upon inquiry the brown pre-college program does not offer transcripts or keep transcript records. So I submitted my application on May 28th, and then on June 4th I received an email that my app was on hold, and my transcript exception request had been... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is a July 17th too late for the mcat? Also would that still give me a chance at top schools?
Currently 1/4 through Uplanet and have yet to start aamc and take practice tests. Currently doing around 74% on Uplanet tho and I have faith that I can score decently if I take it mid July. I plan on doing the submit to a random school method to get the verification process going, and then submit to every other school once I get my mcat score. (If it's what I'm hoping) If I prewrite secondaries while waiting for my mcat score, I should be able to turn them all around before the end of... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Getting worried with 05/28 test because of FL scores. Any advice?
Hey all. So I'm taking my MCAT this Friday (05/28) to apply for the upcoming 2021-2022 cycle. After taking my FL3 and FL4, I started to get pretty worried about the test, not because my FLs are low but too high. To give some background, I took my Sample about 2 months ago and got a 512. I took the AAMC FL1 6 weeks ago and got a 508. At that point, my initial test date was 05/15, so I decided to postpone my test 2 weeks back to get more study time. Fast forward a month later, and about a week... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MCAT Prep During Coursework
Hi everyone I’m about to start taking my pre-reqs and was advised to start at least mapping or noting down/making flash cards for my course content that overlaps with the MCAT. I found the AAMC guide to the MCAT but found that to be too detailed. Does anyone know of any concise resource which lets one know the MCAT topics so I know what to watch out and make a note of? Also, any other resource which can help with the mapping and eventual retention process while taking courses so that I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Resources for low Income Applicant
Hi! I'm posting to ask about any resources there may be for low income applicants. This includes costs for the primary and secondary applications as well as the MCAT and MCAT study materials. After some research I found the fee assistance program through the AAMC. Is there any other resources like this? Additionally, for those who participated in the program, how much did it help? Are there any specific resources for URMs? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Aamc fl3 p/s #40
Just let me know if I'm not supposed to do this on this forum, but I had a question on question 40 of the P/S section of AAMC FL3. I understand why the correct answer is correct, we can't assume anything is statistically significant unless expressly stated now matter how big the difference may seem, right, but I don't understand why we can conclude that over 60% of Americans held a certain opinion if those are the results we got from a survey that we know nothing about as far as sample size... Tulane Masters vs Cal State East Bay
Hello everyone, I was recently accepted into Tulane Masters of physiology and pharmacology, and Cal State East Bay's postbacc program. From the info I could gathered online: Tulane has very small class size, and the masters students take med school classes, heard good reviews about it on older thread Cal State had been having very high success rate in putting students into professional schools in recent years (AAMC data 51+applied 51+accepted last cycle) Which one should I choose? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PTE/CTE, Scholarships + Ethical Admissions; Have you been Violated? Request Assistance Please
As a long-time Admissions Director I am offering this information in support of clarity of the new rules created by the AAMC that, if used properly, should allow applicants and medical programs to collaborate to provide an applicant a better chance to arrive at the medical program of their choice based on their acceptance opportunities they receive throughout the acceptance cycle. Those of you that know me know that I truly believe that the more an applicant knows about a medical program... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Altius score got me defeated
Hey everyone, So I took the Altius FL 2 today and I was pretty surprised by my score. I honestly don't know what happened since I got a 499. My other exam scores are: AAMC sample (converted): 507 Altius 1: 500 AAMC 1: 510 Altius 2: 499 Everything was written under exam conditions and 2 weeks apart in the order above. I pushed my exam date back a month to July 30th from June 30th since my goal is 510+. But I was wondering if anyone else faced this with Altius or has some advice on... KA with TBR?
Is it sufficient to just watch KA and do phase I, II, III for practice in TBR? Or should I read thru TBR? I need an extensive content review for gen chem and physics but the readings don't seem clear to me in the TBR. Is it that I am reading too fast or I'm too stupid to comprehend? I plan to use official materials, practice exams, and AAMC materials additional to this. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
