Potentially stupid question, but please please help: Should I retake a 513?
Real MCAT score: 513 - 125/128/128/132 Scored AAMC FLs taken after the real deal: FL 3: 516 - 129/126/130/131 FL 4: 516 - 129/128/129/131 For context, I took the real MCAT 1/26/24 and I’m signed up to retake it literally next week, 3/22/23. My parents are very pushy about retaking because they want me to get into USF or UMiami Med. I myself want to get into UMiami Med but like many of us, I would be overjoyed to get in literally anywhere. I did not expect to get a 513 on my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Are there any good CARS courses
I took the exam twice, and I did very badly on CARS!!! (I got 120 the first time and 121 the second time). My parents recommended that I take a course on CARS. What do you guys think? English is not my native language; however, I can read just fine. I have finished JW during my first attempt + AAMC CARS resources. During my second attempt, I redid the AAMC materials and did some UEarth + JW. However, there was no improvement. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Request for MCAT Coach?
Hello All, It's my first time posting, so please forgive any errors. I have about 5 weeks left before my MCAT, and I am freaking out a bit. Would anyone be interested in being my MCAT coach for this last stretch of time? I would really appreciate it. I have a UWorld subscription and access to all the AAMC materials courtesy of the FAP. Please let me know if anyone can help. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Confidence Bands as they relate to multiple MCAT versions administered in the cycle
Based on the AAMC guide to the MCAT, the relative difficulty of each exam administered during a cycle (as there are multiple versions) is normed so that every test taker is taking a test of empirically equal difficulty. Do the confidence bands represent what AAMC has determined are the likely range of scores an individual might have gotten had they taken a different version of the test during the same cycle? Realistic Score Increase
I took the blueprint half length diagnostic at the end of December and got a 497 before beginning content review. I just finished content review and scored a 503 (127/125/126/125) on the free blueprint full length. I am working full time (40+) hours a week and was hoping to take the test at the end of May. My goal score was around a 516. Is this even possible? Should I push my date back? I also just started doing uworld and my plan is to work through that and then start the AAMC section /... MCAT Retake Scored 1 Point Lower
Hello all, 510 -> 509 Non-trad re-applicant. Retook an expiring exam (2019), and scored 1 point lower (2022). My 2022 AAMC FLs were 513-515, but those FLs were re-takes after a 3 year gap (from my 2019 preparation), so some potential for score inflation. I am thinking of studying 4 months full-time for a retake before this upcoming AMCAS cycle begins, but unsure if this score warrants a re-take. My initial gut reaction to a lower score (albeit 1 point) was that this would be a red flag... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Institutional Readmission
Can anyone with experience in admin/ veterans' law/ admissions help me out with the following scenario? I intend to join the military reserves after applying to medical school. For reasons I will not get into on this forum, this is non-negotiable. Submitting my application prior to swearing in means I will check "civilian" on the primary app and not require the letter of approval from the military to AAMC. AAMC has clarified with me via email that my joining would not require me... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

499 AAMC Diagnostic, 4/13 Test Date
Hey guys, just took my first diagnostic and got a 499 (123/129/123/124). My test date is on 4/13. Didn't really do any content review, just skimmed through the Bio and Gen Chem Kaplan books. My goal is to get a 521+, what would you guys recommend I work on for the next 3 months/87 days? I think I can learn the material well, but I'm kinda worried about B/B and C/P passages. The standalones seemed straightforward, and I felt I could do them, but the passages I was totally lost on. Anyone got... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Best FLs
Hi, I am planning out my next few months and am wondering what the best full lengths to take are. I am definitely going to buy the AAMC package and take all of those, but other than that what are the best ones to take (free or paid, I’m willing to pay if they’re a better representation but if they’re about equal I’d prefer free) and how many should I be taking in addition to the AAMC? I already took the blueprint diagnostic and am planning to take a blueprint full length at the end of my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

TB test for aamc immunization form for VSLO
I am thinking about getting the aamc immunization form for VSLO completed during this month. I noticed on the form that the TB test result is valid for one year. I have also heard that some schools require TB test done within only several of starting the away rotation. If this is the case, would it be a bad idea to get the TB test done during this month if I am thinking about doing aways this fall or summer? Or should I just redo the test again for those schools?
