Sexual and gender diversity (SGD) – an inclusive term describing people who identify outside of heteronormative binary concepts of gender and sexuality – directly affects us in the pediatric neurology clinic. SGD identity can impact various neurological conditions, including headache, epilepsy, and functional neurological disord ers, all of which have been observed at higher rates in the SGD community.1-4 Gender-affirming hormone therapy can interact with medications commonly used to treat neurological conditions1,5,6 and may increase the risk for idiopathic intracranial hypertension7 and stroke.

Prevalence and Mortality Risk of Neurological Disorders during the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Umbrella Review of the Current Evidence
Conclusion: Our results show that the preva lence and mortality risk may increase in some neurological diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic. Future studies should elucidate the precise mechanisms for the link between COVID-19 and neurological diseases, determine which patient characteristics predispose them to neurological diseases, and cons ider potential global patient management.

Sex differences in neurology: a scoping review
Conclusions Sex and gender are important biological and social determinants of health. However, the more explicit recognition of these factors in clinical literature has not been adequately translated to significant change in neuroscience research regarding sex differences. This study illustrates the ongoing need for more urgent informed action to recognise and act on sex differences in scientific discovery and correct the use of sex and gender terminology. Trial Registration The protocol for this scoping review was registered with Open Science Framework.
