miR-20a-5p inhibits proliferation of lung cancer A549 cells by down-regulating HOXB13
CONCLUSION: miR-20a-5p inhibits proliferation of lung cancer cells by down-regulating the expression of HOXB13.PMID:35527493 | PMC:PMC9085586 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2022.04.13

Aerosol delivery of star polymer-siRNA nanoparticles as a therapeutic strategy to inhibit lung tumor growth
Biomaterials. 2022 Apr 23;285:121539. doi: 10.1016/j.biomaterials.2022.121539. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLung cancer is a major contributor to cancer-related death worldwide. siRNA nanomedicines are powerful tools for cancer therapeutics. However, there are challenges to overcome to increase siRNA delivery to solid tumors, including penetration of nanoparticles into a complex microenvironment following systemic delivery while avoiding rapid clearance by the reticuloendothelial system, and limited siRNA release from endosomes once inside the cell. Here we characterized cell uptake, intracellular trafficking, and gene si...

GSE196499 Gene expression (GeneChip) data from scramble- and CRMP2A siRNA-treated A549 cells.
Contributors : Aristeidis E Boukouris ; Evangelos D MichelakisSeries Type : Expression profiling by arrayOrganism : Homo sapiensWe sought to assess how temporary loss of the microtubule-associated protein CRMP2A could affect global gene expression in the A549 lung cancer cells. We used microarrays to identify differentially regulated genes when CRMP2A is temporarily removed from A549 cells using siRNA.

Rab22a promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of lung adenocarcinoma via up-regulating PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway
Exp Cell Res. 2022 Apr 26:113179. doi: 10.1016/j.yexcr.2022.113179. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRab22a, a member of the proto-oncogene RAS family, belongs to the Rab5 subfamily. It participates in early endosome formation and regulates vesicle trafficking. The relationship between Rab22a and tumorigenesis remains elusive. In non-small cell lung cancer specimens, immunohistochemical staining showed consistently high expression of Rab22a in lung adenocarcinoma, but not in squamous cell carcinoma. In lung adenocarcinoma cell lines, A549 and H1299, transfection with Rab22a significantly promoted cell proliferation, migration...

Hypomethylation-mediated upregulation of the WASF2 promoter region correlates with poor clinical outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: WASF2 is overexpressed and hypomethylated in HCC and correlates with patient prognosis. WASF2 inactivation exerts anti-tumorigenic effects on HCC cells in vitro and in vivo, suggesting that WASF2 could be a potential therapeutic target for HCC.PMID:35477411 | DOI:10.1186/s13046-022-02365-7

Capmatinib suppresses LPS-induced interaction between HUVECs and THP-1 monocytes through suppression of inflammatory responses
CONCLUSION: These findings imply that CAP improves inflamed endothelial-monocyte adhesion via a PPAR/IL-10-dependent pathway. The current study provides in vitro evidence for a therapeutic approach for treating atherosclerosis.PMID:35483573 | DOI:10.1016/j.bj.2022.04.005

LINC00152 knockdown suppresses tumorigenesis in non-small cell lung cancer via sponging miR-16-5p
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the present study demonstrated that LINC00152-silencing suppressed NSCLC tumorigenesis via regulating the miR-16-5p/BCL2L2 axis. Therefore, linc00152 has the potential as a molecular marker and may be a potential target for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.PMID:35399229 | PMC:PMC8987817 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-22-59
