Overexpression of 14-3-3 ζ primes disease recurrence, metastasis and resistance to chemotherapy by inducing epithelial-mesenchymal transition in NSCLC
In this study, we found that overexpression of 14-3-3ζ was more frequent in NSCLC tumor tissues with tumor recurrence. By using scratch healing assay and transwell assay, we demonstrated that NSCLC cells with high expression of 14-3-3ζ gained increased motile and invasive capacity, whereas siRNA-mediated knockdown of endogenous 14-3-3ζ abrogated cancer cell dissemination. Intriguingly, we found that NSCLC cells underwent epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) after the induction of 14-3-3ζ in vitro and in vivo. These findings could be readily recaptured in clinical setting since we showed that NSCLC tumor specimen wit...

Targeting HER3-dependent activation of nuclear AKT improves radiotherapy of non-small celllung cancer
CONCLUSION: IR-induced activation of nuclear AKT occurs inside the nucleus that is mainly dependent on HER3 expression in NSCLC. These findings suggest that targeting HER3 in combination with radiotherapy may provide a logical treatment option for investigation in selected NSCLC patients.PMID:35839938 | DOI:10.1016/j.radonc.2022.07.008

The prognostic value of N6-methyladenosine RBM15 regulators in lung adenocarcinoma
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2022 May 22;68(1):130-139. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2022.68.1.17.ABSTRACTN6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most common internal modification in mammalian mRNAs while RNA-binding motif protein 15 (RBM15) is an important methyltransferase in m6A modification. Increasing evidences have shown that RBM15 has a close correlation with lung cancer. However, specific functions of RBM15 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) are limited. RBM15 expression was analyzed in human LUAD tissues and matched healthy lung tissue. RBM15 was knocked down via siRNA in A549 and H1734 cells. The relationships between RBM15 with cell...

Increased expression of FAT4 suppress metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma through regulating MAPK pathway and associated with immune cells infiltration
In conclusion, this is the first to report the potential function of FAT4 in NSCLC. Hence, FAT4 could be used as a promising prognostic and immunological biomarker for NSCLC.

Ras suppressor-1 (RSU1) exerts a tumor suppressive role with prognostic significance in lung adenocarcinoma
Clin Exp Med. 2022 Jun 21. doi: 10.1007/s10238-022-00847-8. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRas suppressor-1 (RSU1), originally described as a suppressor of Ras oncogenic transformation, localizes to focal adhesions interacting with the ILK-PINCH-PARVIN (IPP) complex that exerts a well-established oncogenic role in cancer. However, RSU1 implication in lung cancer is currently unknown. Our study aims to address the role of RSU1 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUADC). We here show that RSU1 protein expression by immunohistochemistry is downregulated in LUADC human tissue samples and represents a significant prognostic indicator. In si...
