High Expression of DEPDC1 Promotes Malignant Phenotypes of Breast Cancer Cells and Predicts Poor Prognosis in Patients With Breast Cancer
In this study, the immunohistochemistry results demonstrated that DEPDC1 was high-expressed in breast cancer tissues compared with the paired adjacent normal breast tissues, and its tendency at protein level was consistent with mRNA level from TCGA data. Moreover, DEPDC1 mRNA level revealed the strongest association with poor prognosis and development in breast cancer. In vitro assays showed that DEPDC1 overexpression resulted in significant promotion of proliferation by regulating cell cycle in MCF-7 cells, whilst an opposite effect was found in the MDA-MB-231 cells with DEPDC1 deletion. Celastrol enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis in human glioblastoma via the death receptor pathway
ConclusionsTaken together, the results of our study demonstrate that celastrol sensitizes glioma cells to TRAIL via the death receptor pathway and that DR5 plays an important role in the effects of this cotreatment. The results indicate that this cotreatment is a promising tumor-killing therapeutic strategy with high efficacy and low toxicity.

Tim-3 expression in glioma cells is associated with drug resistance

Adipocyte enhancer binding protein 1 (AEBP1) knockdown suppresses human glioma cell proliferation, invasion and induces early apoptosis
ConclusionElevated AEBP1 is positively associated with poor prognosis of glioma. AEBP1 downregulation suppressed cell proliferation and invasion, but promoted early cell apoptosis. AEBP1 downregulation suppressed the cell proliferation and invasion may by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway.

KDELR2 is an unfavorable prognostic biomarker and regulates CCND1 to promote tumor progression in glioma.
CONCLUSIONS: KDELR2 is highly expressed in human glioma tissues and cell lines, a higher expression of KDELR2 is associated with a poor prognosis of glioma patients. Moreover, KDELR2 regulated the cellular functions of U87 cells by targeting CCND1. Silencing of NAMPT leads to up-regulation of insulin receptor substrate 1 gene expression in U87 glioma cells.
CONCLUSIONS: Results of this investigation demonstrated that silencing of NAMPT mRNA with corresponding down-regulation of NAMPT protein and suppression of the glioma cell proliferation affected the expression of IRS1 gene as well as many other genes encoding the proliferation related proteins. It is possible that dysregulation of most of the studied genes in glioma cells after silencing of NAMPT is reflected by a complex of intergenic interactions and that NAMPT is an important factor for genome stability and regulatory mechanisms contributing to the control of glioma cell metabolism and proliferation.
