Inhibition of tumor necrosis factor alpha using RNA interference in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Minichromosome maintenance (MCM) protein 4 overexpression is a potential prognostic marker for laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
CONCLUSIONS: We noticed a significant role for MCM4 overexpression in human LSCC tissues and their corresponding adjacent non-neoplastic tissues and found that siRNA of MCM4 can significantly decrease the proliferation of cancer cells. Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) inhibitor CIP2A indicates resistance to radiotherapy in rectal cancer
In conclusion, these results suggest that by contributing to radiosensitivity of cancer cells, low CIP2A protein expression level associates with a favorable response to long‐course (C)RT in rectal cancer patients. Low CIP2A protein expression level associates with a favorable response to long‐course chemoradiotherapy in rectal cancer patients. Suppression of CIP2A transcription by siRNA sensitizes colorectal cancer cells to irradiation and decreases their survival in vitro.

Suppression of the long non-coding RNA MALAT-1 impairs the growth and migration of human tongue squamous cell carcinoma SCC4 cells.
Conclusions: Elevated expression of MALAT-1 in OSCC may play a role in tumorigenesis and/or metastasis. Further studies are necessary to identify the mechanism by which MALAT-1 influences SCC4 growth and migration and validate its increased expression in OSCC patients. PMID: 31360193 [PubMed]
