Question about PAI
Hi all, my colleague informed me that the PAI can only be administered and interpreted within a week of collecting other data for the psychological assessment. I am trying to find the sources for this and am unable to find them online. I do not have access to my own PAI manual yet and am curious if this guidelines is listed in the manual? This would be much appreciated as I wait for my copy of the manual to arrive. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Neuropsych Internship chances
Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I am a current 5th year in my program's clinical psychology program. I found neuropsychology a little late (around halfway through my third year), thoroughly enjoyed it, and decided to go for it full force. As such, I took an extra year to give myself another year for neuropsych training. For intervention, I have done my hours at my program's clinic, PP, and an LGBTQ community mental health center. For assessment, I have completed neuropsych... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

As a manuscript reviewer, disagreeing with another reviewer
I recently reviewed a manuscript. I just got to see the other reviews. I’m in strong contrast to one of the other reviewers. Frankly, I find what the other reviewer to be full of BS. It’s a bit of a controversial professional issues topic and a comment on another paper. I know it’s up to the authors to address those comments even if they end up disagreeing with the reviewer. It even seems like the editor didn’t highlight that reviewer’s comments. But has anyone ever reached out to an... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Interesting article on students with clinical depression who do and do not identify as depressed/having depression
Many depressed students don't identify as such (opinion) And that might not be a bad thing, Isaac L. Ahuvia writes. www.insidehighered.com Thoughts? The author's take away is that we should perhaps not encourage labeling/diagnosis of depression, as that may lead to less engagement in positive coping behaviors. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Next steps?
Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some input on my situation. I have a clinical psych PhD and work at a top ranked hospital. I get paid for clinical but I also do research that I am not paid. I'm quite early career and am grateful for the job. I currently make about $120k but promotion in my current system is vague and political so I would likely not be promoted for years. The patients are usually lovely but the team politics are a nightmare, which isn't helped by the fact I am in a clinic... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

HPU PsyD
Hey guys! So I'm applying to PsyD programs fresh out of undergrad, and I've been having trouble getting accepted, despite the fact that my application is pretty much iron clad. I have a pretty good shot at HPU's PsyD program, but my main concern is that they aren't quite accredited yet. The program is super new, and the APA is coming for a visit next month, and they may be accredited on a contingency basis. In the case that I receive admission and they receive accreditation, is it too risky... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How likely am I to get into a Clinical Psyc program?
Hey guys, I’m going to be applying to Clinical psychology Ph.D. programs in the summer/ fall and want to know what are my odds of getting in. I graduated from Texas A&M with a 4.0. Structural Equation Modelling for a Moderation and Mediation Hypothesis.
Hello, I have concluded data collection for my first study and I am stuck with data collection at the moment. I am looking into the working mechanisms of mindfulness and have explored two hypothesis: 1. Moderation Hypothesis: Mindfulness moderates the relationship between stress and work place outcomes. 2. Mediation Hypothesis: The relationship between mindfulness and workplace outcomes is mediated by psychological capital. My measured workplace outcomes... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PhD program for personality disorder research
Hi all, I’m considering applying for my PhD in clinical psychology and hope to pursue both clinical and research work in the area of personality pathology, particularly BPD and NPD. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any east coast programs that have faculty doing interesting research on personality disorders. Yes, I know limiting myself to one geographical region diminishes my chances…No, I’m really not willing to relocate at this time. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
