OAT Breakdown & Advice
OAT Breakdown: AA 380 & TS 380 I wrote my OAT recently, and would like to share my scores and experience, along with my study methods. I am a Human Biology and Psychology major, and even though I have experience from courses such as chemistry and biology, I have minimal knowledge of physics and organic chemistry. I would consider myself to be a strong calculus/functions student. Overall, I have a pretty high GPA (3.95) and am a hard worker. My AA score was 380, and my TS score was 380 as... Remote Service Delivery Issue
I typically will do a 1-hour remote (ZOOM) intake meeting for each client (toddler, referred for ASD eval), typically followed by in-person assessment a few weeks later (due to authorization turnaround times). A parent notified me that she and the father will be away (in a location in which I am not licensed), but child will be with grandma locally (where I am licensed). All parties would participate in the ZOOM appointment. I told them I would need to reschedule, as ALL participants need to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I retake these for MCAT if grades decade old?
Hi all, I'll do my best to keep this short and sweet, and I apologize in advance if this question or variant of has been asked X amount of times. I've tried searching for the answers on here and elsewhere, but I guess situations can be different. So here's the gist; and thank you in advance for the support: Graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's in psychology, minor in philosophy. CUM GPA: 3.10, BCPM: 2.79, In-major GPA: 3.89 (even though this GPA is probably irrelevant). To make a long story... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is this the right track?
Hello! I am a 32 year old student trying desperately to find the right program and path for myself. I live in Arizona currently. I just graduated from my online bachelors degree program in psychology and I am currently looking for the right fit for my masters. I know a masters is not a necessity for a PsyD program, but I need/want it to get my GPA up and strong. After that I am planning on going into a PsyD Program that is accredited by the APA, hoping this leads to a successful career as a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC for a neuro internship
I'm a rising 5th year in a deent PhD clinical psych program that doesn't have a neuro focus. I discovered a love for assessment late in my 2nd year and have been trying to pivot in a neuro direction but feel like I'm playing catch-up. My program is pretty limited in their ability to advise me on neuropsych internships but I have been able to speak with a few post-docs, albeit with sometimes conflicting advice. I'm planning to apply to internship this year and am looking for feedback on... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Eu Citizen, US Psych PhD - Practice in Europe?
I am midway through my accredited clinical psychology PhD program in the US. I have dual citizenship (EU/USA) and am curious about practicing in Europe once I finish my schooling and clinical training. Do people have insight into which European countries may be easiest to practice in or have experience practicing abroad and have insight into the pros/cons or intricacies of practicing outside of the US with a US degree? Eszopiclone dependence and withdrawal - myth?
We all know the risks of dependence with benzodiazepines and such, and Z-drugs wre marketed as safer and less tolerance/dependence inducing drugs than benzos. Thing is, we've all seen a lot of patients developing tolerance and dependence to Ambien; ofc there is a strong component of psychological dependence, but that is certainly not all. I've seen eszopiclone being recomended as a hypnotic more often lately, marketed as a drug that doesn't alter the sleep-wake cycle as much, and has a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cluster B:histrionic traits
I have a relatively new client of 3 months that I inherited from a retiring psychologist. No personality pathology, PTSD, OCD, and bipolar 1 disorder. Client has had middle insomnia since November 2022 and is often sleeping 2-4 hours a night. She once fell asleep during our session. This client also stopped her risperdal cold Turkey due to excessive weight gain. She has had a sleep study, seen a sleep psychologist and has tried every sleep medication. She is now on Belsomra and her sleep is... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
