Fully funded PsyD and PhD programs
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out if they can answer any of my questions. I have been applying to PsyD programs and PhD programs. Does anyone know of PsyD programs that are partially or fully funded and offer a stipend? I was also wondering if anyone knew of clinical psychology PhD programs that have more of a clinical focus such as scholar practitioner programs / practitioner scholar focus. I have good stats and want to make sure I am applying to good programs. Thank you (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Lab names A POLL
Of note, my phone autocorrected the title to "Lab madness" and I almost left it. Real talk: I am a PI for a few years now and I'm coming around to the idea that maybe I lead a lab and I'm not just some random semi-adult with a group of younger semi-adults doing random science stuff. Poll closes in seven days. Decide my lab's fate.* * this is actually only true if you are on my study section (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MD/PhD (SSH) Psychiatry vs. Clinical Psychology PhD
I asked this a few days ago in the Clinical Psych form and one of y'all gave a super insightful answer and suggested I repost this question here to get Physician Scientist Input. As I'm drafting my SOPs (for clin psych phd) and getting my application affairs in order it has hit me that I really need to keep ruling other pathways out. One pathway that's stuck with me is the idea of doing an MD/PhD and having the PhD be a soft science such as Social Psychology, Anthropology, or Sociology (I... Clinical Psychology vs. MD/PhD Psychiatry
As I'm drafting my SOPs and getting my application affairs in order it has hit me that I really need to keep ruling other pathways out. One pathway that's stuck with me is the idea of doing an MD/PhD and having the PhD be a soft science such as Social Psychology (a decent amount of programs do allow this/fund this). For reference my research interest I plan on continuing in grad school is how culture influences psychopathology presentation and cultural adaptation to assessment and treatment... WAMC FlexMed
I'm not even sure if I can apply. For some context, I did an early college program where I was accepted to uni at 15 and graduated from the program at 18 and then got into a T20 undergrad and am a sophomore here by credits. Problem arises from old uni transcript bc it counts as my high school transcript as well bc credits from it were used to satisfy state hs grad requirements (my actual hs transcript only has 2 years of grades, uni has other 2) Current Biology and Psychology double major... Recent NPsych Listserv Post Annoyed Me
As the title says, a recent post to the NPsych listserv annoyed me. The post is an important and valid one regarding test security in California. Yet one of the author's points that supposedly speaks to the urgency of the matter was annoying. To quote: "...However, the urgency grows each day. Defense attorneys are desperate to find experts who will agree to the demands and have started reaching out to newly licensed, non-boarded neuropsychologists with no forensic experience." The explicit... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Appic member post doc not APA accredited
Hello, all My post doc site is a private non profit hospital. Postdocs were hired on a 90 day probation period. My question is as a APPIC member postdoc but not APA accredited and did not participate in the match ( there is no match for postdoc this year), can they terminate a postdoc before 90 day probation period without dual process and appic involvement? Worsening mental health in society
I am a healthcare professional, but I’m not in the mental health field. However, I am very passionate about mental health and health in general. I wanted to share some thoughts/questions I’ve had for awhile, and see if others have any opinions about these issues. 1. There are more psych medications, more access to therapy and treatment, and less stigma than there previously was, and yet, the population’s mental health seems to be declining. I understand that access and stigma are still... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
