University of Kentucky PhD Program & Others for Neuropsych?
Hello Folks, I will be interviewing with Clinical Psych PhD programs soon and I was wondering if I could get some input from experts on the reputation of some of these programs, particularly in Neuropsychology training; also in comparison to others on my list: University of Kentucky vs Rosalind Franklin vs Maine vs UofKansas. Any input is appreciated, Thanks! M (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post Doc Interview Questions
Does anyone know where to find commonly asked interview questions for clinical psychology postdoctoral fellowships (or where one can find resources with these questions?) Currently preparing for interviews and any resources that people are aware of would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Applying to Funded MSWs alongside PhDs?
So, it's occurred to me that I really don't know how much "I have in me" if I don't get in this cycle to continue the post-bac life. There's a high probability that funding gets pulled for the study that's funding my paycheck, this loss of funding would occur this summer. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of being primarily a researcher, but I honestly have considered that I'd probably have a happy and fulfilling life as a master's level clinician carving out a niche as well. I'm... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What happens if you don ’t reach 25% of your internship hours as direct client contact?
Hey all. Coming from an anxious intern, i have a site where I am not particularly close to 25% hours from a site being direct client contact hours, as opposed to support or supervision hours. The state in which I am planning to be licensed, Washington, has the following criteria under thier definition of internship per statute. This is: “(ii) Content of the internship program. (A) The internship must be designed to provide a planned sequence of training experiences focusing on breadth and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Undergraduate research relevant for neurosurgery residency?
I am an undergraduate. I am in three research labs with multiple publications in each. I am in a biomedical engineering lab that looked at craniofacial wound treatment. I am in a psychology lab that focused on social psychology and I am also in a neuroscience lab looking at movement and neurodegenerative disorders that is led by an MD/PhD. Would each of this publications be relevant for a neurosurgery application? And which publications would be more valuable - would neuroscience/BME be... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I Feel Unsure About My Therapist's Suggestion
Hello everyone. I have been having CBT one to one therapy since February with a trainee therapist. I have found the sessions ok, but compared to a voluntary organisation I visited before for therapy I have realised that this therapist is not quite so perceptive and therefore I am not so relaxed during sessions with her although I try my best to cover it. I am having therapy after a violent attempted assault on a date and I have been through various stages, speaking up about it (which was... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Prerequisite Classes via Dual Enrollment
I’m currently a highschool student (freshman) doing dual enrollment. However I am thinking of taken some of my prerequisite classes through dual enrollment/dual credit. (Nutrition, English, Psychology, and speech) Now here’s where the twist comes, suppose I take some of these classes freshman & sophomore year, so on. Some of these classes would be 5 years or older by the time I graduate university and apply to a dental school. Does this mean I would have to retake them? I am a Texas... Clinical Psychology (Neuropsychology) Academic Career Outlook?
I’m a 2nd year PhD student in clinical psych specializing in neuropsych and I’m hoping to be a professor. Obviously the academic job market isn’t great at the moment, but I’ve heard that clinical psych positions are relatively easier to obtain due to the increased flexibility of the degree. Is this the case? What does the academic job market look like for clinical psych? What about neuropsych? Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Toxic residency
I don't deserve this. I know I don't deserve this. In fact, no human being deserves the psychological torture that my program is putting us all through. It is not normal to be harassed and disrespected just because you are a resident at an institution that turns a blind eye to residents who are being mistreated. I'm so frustrated, sad, and mad. I wish I would have never matched here. I would have rather SOAPed into another specialty. Or quit medicine entirely. The way we are treated is... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Highly Sensitive People/Children
Every so often I determine there isn't enough suffering in my life so I decide to read the source material for whatever pop psychology term my patients have latched on to from TikTok or YouTube or whatever. I have lately been hearing a lot about "highly sensitive people/children" so I borrowed Elaine Aron's (child psychologist) book The Highly Sensitive Child from the library. I'm only into chapter one and I don't think I can keep going. She has stated both that this "trait" is both... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ITCT implementation
Hi everyone! I am curious if anyone knows any info about ITCT and just the general feelings people get about it? I’ve read the research on it and understand the general principles. Where I went to internship used to teach interns it (along with PCIT and TF CBT) but the supervisor who was certified left the agency. However, I don’t really ever hear about it (especially in comparison to PCIT and TF CBT). I know EMDR has feelings towards it (to put it politely) and was curious if ITCT has... VA Graduate Psychologist - what's it like?
I've never worked in the VA before, but I'm reaching the point where I'm 6 months away from finishing my internship and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I'm wanting to start my own clinical practice as soon as possible, but I know that I need post-doctoral experience to be able to get a license in many states. I'm seeing some VA jobs that I'm quite qualified for (perfectly in line with my specialty area), and a lot of them allow you to join right after internship as a "graduate... Pennsylvania License/PPLE Exam
Hi PA Psychologists!! I took the PPLE and failed it So frustrating after taking/passing the EPPP. Not to mention that the PA board is being a pain about it. My question is for people who passed the PPLE: What are some study tips that you may have and how should I navigate the questions on the exam that are so oddly/specifically worded? Thanks for your help and encouragement!! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Tell me if these are good programs! I don't know anything and need good advice.
Hi All! Let me know what you guys think of these PsyD programs I picked out: GW, Rutgers, Palo Alto/PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium, Loyola University Maryland, Baylor, Yeshiva, Widener. (Insiders is saying the acceptance rates for some of these programs are literally less than 10%. That seems hard to get into.. ) I found them on the Insider's Guide book and looked at APA match rates and cohort sizes. My advisor at my school was saying how getting an MSW first might help me get into... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
