Differences between NIH K Awards and VA CDA
I was recently asked by a student what are the primary differences, if any, between NIH K Awards and VA CDA. I have limited experience with the VA and never even considered it when going after such funding, so I didn't have a serviceable response. Can anyone provide information on the key differences between these mechanisms? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Importance of research area for postdocs
Hello all, 2nd year clinical PhD student here. My ultimate career goals include either clinical health or rehabilitation psych hopefully at an AMC. The lab I am in at my program is great, and I should have plenty of publications/posters by the time I’m applying to post-docs. However, the research area is not necessarily directly related to either of these two fields (mostly SUDs, which I know are often relevant to health/rehab populations but this is not the focus of our lab). When... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I aim for PsyD or PhD programs?
I'm a sophomore psychology student, so there's still time for me to figure things out but I want to be as competitive as possible so I want to make sure I'm thinking through all my options. I know this question has been asked quite a few times, and most lean towards PhD, but there are some things about PhDs that have me leaning towards PsyDs. I'm really lucky that cost isn't as big of a burden to me because I'm on track to have a 150k scholarship for grad school, that can go towards any... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Thoughts on Duquesne University PhD program
Hello, I am applying to PhD and PsyD programs and was wondering if anyone could provide some insight on Duquesne University. If someone was in the program or knows about it, I would appreciate it! I know it functions as a human science perspective in clinical psychology and that’s what has grabbed my attention. Thank you (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Lab Meeting Ideas
Starting to think through a plan for restructuring how I run my lab meetings. We're in an AMC and a small-ish lab (5-10 people), but with pretty diverse educational backgrounds. Most are BA/MA-level staff, but I also have post-docs and the occasional undergrad, grad student or med student in attendance. Interested to hear from anyone who wants to respond (students, faculty, folks who haven't attended a lab meeting since grad school a decade ago) about how other lab meetings are structured... Advice for disclosing DUI on pre-doctoral internship apps (APPIC)?
Hey y'all. I asked about this a few years ago when it happened but its now time to actually address this in my internship process. I'm at the question that asks if I've been convicted of any crime and to elaborate so here's my story and I'm looking for any advice on how to address this in my application... I've used this post as kind of a very very rough draft of how i'll address this, touching on the main points that I'll dive deeper into, so I would love direct feedback on any of that and... SCS psych clearance delays
I've identified patients I'm considering for neuromodulation but have been getting held up by the psych clearance portion - long wait times, insurance non-coverage and patients having to pay out of pocket (even the telehealth options). I'm exploring the idea of hiring a liscensed psychologist as a contractor for the group to expedite the process on a per-eval basis. Anyone have any experience with this and Is a practice allowed cover the cost of the eval? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Always been semi-interested in the work of psychologists that work in campus counseling centers. Have not heard good things about the pay, is there any real variability to it at all? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
